I believe the 2025 Dignity Act is a serious starting point for finally addressing an immigration system Washington has failed to fix for decades. I understand why many Americans are cautious after the lessons of 1986, when promises of enforcement and border security were never fully delivered. That skepticism is justified. But the 2025 Dignity Act includes enforcement and accountability measures that did not exist under IRCA. If elected to Congress, I want to work on strengthening the Dignity Act so we can finally achieve real border security, uphold the rule of law, protect American workers, and deliver real immigration reform grounded in common sense.

NEW: Republicans in Tennessee have officially passed a new congressional map, carving up the only majority-Black district just days after the Supreme Court gutted the Voting Rights Act. This is another shameful power grab by the GOP in their attempt to rig the midterms.
