People don’t want to work…especially in this welfare state. i have a 21 Yo employee who has 18 hours this week. Weve texted her every day to help us cover shifts (full timer out sick all week) and she says no or doesnt respond. Didnt show up for her shift at 11 today until i called her. The "Philadelphia Inquirer" found dangerous chemicals in the astroturf of the now-demolished Veterans Stadium. Six Phillies who played on that turf, Tug McGraw, Darren Daulton, John Vukovich, John Oates, Ken Brett, David West died of a rare & aggressive brain cancer. The six players all died in their 40s or 50s, roughly three times the rate of the average adult population. Even more alarming was their mutual diagnosis of glioblastoma. The Phillies sold pieces of turf in sealed 4 x 4" bags. The Inquirer purchased four of those on eBay. Samples analyzed by two separate labs found 16 types of dangerous chemicals in the turf. They are referred to as “forever chemicals” because they don’t break down & can last in the human body for years. The US federal government estimates that 12,000 artificial turf fields containing PFAS or “forever chemicals” exist in USA.

Game 4: North Decatur & Batesville went back-&-forth all game long. ND built the biggest margin of the game at 20-12 early in the 2nd qtr, but Batesville battled back with an 11-2 run to take a 23-22 edge late in the qtr. Kelsey Haley hit a 3 at the buzzer to give the lead back to ND. ND never trailed again, but Batesville kept it within a 2 possession game until the final minute, tying it at 29 & 34, & pulling within 2 at 44-46, but ND answered every run & hit enough FTs late to take a hard-fought 52-47 win. Taylor signee Madi Allen (pictured) made a living getting into the lane & burying jumper after jumper with her deadly short pull up, amassing 24 points, including her 1000th point, while adding 8 rebounds & 4 steals. Sophomore Madelyn Haskamp had an outstanding game inside for Batesville, attacking the boards & scoring around the basket for a 16-13 double-double.
