Kidnapping Inc. is arguably the best Haitian movie of all time. The movie is basically what happens when Pulp Fiction meets a Haitian political circus, and the result is pure, chaotic gold. Two bumbling kidnappers, Doc (the reluctant brain) and Zoe (the trigger-happy disaster), mess up their job spectacularly—accidentally killing their target and then deciding, "Hey, let’s just kidnap a lookalike instead." Genius. From high-speed chases and bullets flying to a full-on street birth during a soccer match, the movie never stops escalating. It’s hilarious, ridiculous, and way too real, weaving sharp political satire into the madness. Haiti’s corrupt politicians, law enforcement, and class divides get roasted just as much as the kidnappers, making the film more than just a crime caper—it’s a darkly funny mirror to real-life dysfunction. Sure, it stumbles a bit toward the end, but the ride is so wild, you won’t even mind. Mourral’s feature debut is loud, fast, and unfiltered, tackling serious issues with a sense of humor that’s as sharp as a ransom demand. Really enjoyed it.
