Oh, for heaven's sake. How pathetic. Like it or not, Farage is a mainstream politician who enjoys consistently high personal approval ratings. He may well be Britain's next prime minister. These people need to get a grip of themselves.

To get defence spending to 4% of GDP means extra spending of about £50 billion. Restoring the 2-child welfare cap (which I support) saves just over £3bn. And only half of that is going to go on defence. Every little helps. But it's a tiny proportion (around 3%) of what is needed and therefore of the savings that need to be found elsewhere.
