NYPD Guyanese American Law Enforcement Association is a nonprofit organization supporting Law Enforcement Officers and Civilians of Guyanese decent.

Joseph J. Esposito aka “Espo” devoted his life to public service. He began his career with the NYPD as a Police Trainee in 1968. He would go on to become the longest serving Chief of Department, leading the NYPD through 9/11. After retiring from the NYPD in 2013, he served in several other leadership roles across city government — because that’s who Joe was. Joe’s care and compassion touched countless lives throughout his legendary career. Truly New York’s Finest, his legacy of service will never be forgotten. May he Rest in Peace. 🕊️ 🙏

There’s nothing quite like an NYPD Academy Graduation! For our newest officers, it’s the highest point of their hard work. For their friends & family members, this is a moment of pride they will always remember. To our 631 graduates who took the oath today, we congratulate you!
