@DrRobbieErskine @ashwani_doc @ESRA_trainees @ASRA_Society @ESRA_Society Adipose and connective tissue present both in and out of nerve. Therefore impossible to discriminate between two using standard ultrasound. Thus, fluid injection pressure does not discriminate. PNS uses different physical mechanism - electricity rather than mechanical sound waves
English

@ashwani_doc @gamcleod2 @ESRA_trainees @ASRA_Society @ESRA_Society Totally agree @ashwani_doc
There a number of good reasons to use both nv stim and US together. (Pressure monitoring probably not)

Kartik, the slide shows toxic effect of all local anaesthetics on axons in rats. Concentrations should be reduced in patients with vasculitic disease. The session emphasised we have to take time to explain things to patients
English

Local anesthetics are toxic drugs! Graeme MacLeod on the changes seen in the nerves when subperineural local anesthetics are injected. Watch your concentration and choose carefully!

@casualtysrus @ashwani_doc @RCollEM @ESRA_Society @RegionalAnaesUK Thanks Chris and lovely to meet you. We implemented K. Anders Ericsson’s expert performance approach with deliberate practice and metrics. We know it works in chess and sport but can it make a difference in Medicine
English

@ashwani_doc @RCollEM @ESRA_Society @gamcleod2 @RegionalAnaesUK It is one of a kind!
I’ve never seen such low faculty to delegate ratios and then allowing delegates to choose what blocks they want to learn/ work on.
@gamcleod2 you’ve done an absolutely brilliant job in setting up this course.
It’s world class.
English

What a brilliant course. I felt I need to increase my repertoire of blocks for ED patients & master some techniques. Thanks to @ashwani_doc for the recommendation. 5x 1 hour 1:1 Cadaveric needling sessions + 1:2 on models. I didn’t expect this but am not saying I wasn’t trying😝

When the players got in at half time, Howe was waiting with a presentation. He showed them the stats of how we drop off physically in the first 15 mins of the 2nd half. He implored them not to do the same. 7 minutes in, this happens. Superb. #NUFC

@Ropivacaine @gamcleod2 @glauncel @szerbj @susanne_retter @BJAJournals @aboezaart1 It is not a fair point.
The is no evidence supporting erythrocytes over India ink and all literature that states this is self-referenced without evidence or explanation.

@gamcleod2 @Ropivacaine @glauncel @szerbj @susanne_retter @BJAJournals @aboezaart1 This statement regarding the inferiority of India ink and superiority of erythrocytes seems to be repeated without evidence. I see no India ink in the extra-perineural space while throughout sub-perineural space. Clearly the perineurium is impenetrable to India ink. Thoughts?
