@MertHoney didn't know this one, been using Common Text for everything out of habit. small stuff like this is exactly why I still learn something new from Unreal after years in it

In Unreal Engine, for your numeric calculations, instead of using 'Common Text,' just use a 'Common Numeric Text Block' so you can do this fancy stuff more easily. #ue5 #gamedev

@GrandDuckGames the fact that the naming process gets its own post is exactly why cozy games work, the bee having main character energy before you've even caught it is a good sign for CatchMaker

@BrainBoxMobile honestly just replying to other devs in your genre like this does more than most paid stuff, it's slow but it's real. cross-promo swaps with similar-sized trivia/casual devs worked for a lot of people i've seen too

@SICGamesDev "getting lost was the first lesson" is a great hook, curiosity over certainty is a rare pitch for an adventure game right now. is the exploration guided at all or is it fully open from the start

@GhostlineArt the ribcage/bone silhouette reading as xylophone keys is such a good goblin-y prop instinct, it feels scavenged instead of crafted. #3 is my pick, the asymmetry sells it more than the cleaner ones

@slimbennejii unfinished cyberpunk WIPs have the best vibe honestly, no polish yet to hide the cool ideas. definitely worth reviving, top down cyberpunk is underused. what's stopping you from picking it back up?

@BlackCreepy_Cat ascii art tools are so slept on, could see this being clutch for terminal style loading screens or menu flourishes. bookmarking this

@jiang2533001 the real endgame of designing puzzles is forgetting your own solution three weeks later. it's like the game figured out how to beat you at your own game

@sources46495 26 games in 8 years is wild consistency, most people quit after the first one flops. what's kept you shipping instead of getting stuck polishing one thing forever

@Will_Spearshake that hits different when it's from a total stranger who didn't have to say anything. reviews from actual players carry way more weight than any marketing push, congrats

Just got my first positive game review on steam! The fact that somebody took their time to not only buy and play the game but yo also leave a review it's really heartwarming. I think with this I have positive energies for the rest of the week and more! #gameDev #indieDev

@Collection40289 impact frames are such a cheap trick for how much weight they add to a hit, small thing that makes everything feel way more violent

@kretoskim rigging is so underrated, nobody claps for a good rig but everybody notices a bad one. how many bones you running on this

@dragontails_stu "escaping outside the map" is always the bug players find within the first hour, no matter how much you test for it yourselves. good on you for turning bug reports around into a hotfix this fast

@bagusindrayana_ "something that chases you the better you do" is such a good jam theme twist, turns your own success into the threat. is the chaser speed tied directly to score or does it ramp on a timer

@RatWizardDev almost 10 years solo on one world is a genuinely rare kind of stubborn, most people would've restarted three times by now. what's the thing that's kept you coming back to it instead of burning out

@MekoTheGrovin that purple and orange palette is doing a lot of heavy lifting, reads clean even at a glance. is Gony a boss fight or a mechanic you're still naming

@StephenTBW the modular building kit is such an underrated skill, way harder to make pieces snap together clean than people think. you building the kit first or designing a specific layout and pulling pieces as you need them

@mfarrukhsajjad one house that keeps escalating is such a good constraint, scarier than most open world horror games honestly. is the house actually changing layout between visits or is it the same rooms hitting different each time

@DreamwaveLabs gravity as the core mechanic instead of just a hazard is the interesting part here, most space combat games treat it as set dressing. is momentum shared between players in co-op or does everyone fight their own gravity well

We're building Perihelion—a physics-based space combat roguelite where gravity shapes every fight. If you love mastering challenging mechanics, experimenting with new builds, and surviving impossible moments, we think you'll want to keep an eye on this one. #indiedev #gamedev

@SoultriaStudios the dots doing all the pacing work before "the files never tell you the whole story" is such a good gut punch. that kind of restraint is rare, most horror devs would've filled that silence with more text
