@davidking34 Kingy sadly it hasn’t been our great game for years. It is in decline and we all know it. Glorified European handball mixed with bball, soccer and netball. An invasion game instead of a stamina a contest winning game.

Our great game has lots of challenges right now, but none more than umpiring. This was a 50:50 call, but last nights game wasn’t the best advertisement for consistency and clarity for all involved.

Mike’s recall is bad. I refused to continue to appear on his radio show after he deliberately made Stan Zemanek’s widow cry as she was preparing to go to his funeral. He delighted in doing it. I was immediately redeployed onto another show & he was fired not longer after.

Real Madrid could have gone through but… You cannot hope that 2-3 top games in April save the season. No other top team in Europe allows two players not to defend, or avoid doing the kind of defensive commitment that Real Madrid showed today. Why only today? It is the story of the last two years. Real need a collective structure, idea, call it what you want. But that process will have its up and downs, and the club will have to be patient with either Arbeloa (many fans would keep him and he has shown his deep understanding of the game) or whoever comes next. They keep falling in the same hurdle and it is now two years with no trophies since the European Supercup in the summer of 2024
