@cyberistia Other than Spurs staying up, I think this is spot on Andy! Spurs has been broken for a long time. Now we’ve not got a Kane, Son or Bale type to keep us looking competitive, just how bad we are is glaringly obvious and brings all the other deeper issues at the club into focus.

I think Spurs will probably stay up, but that really is the least of the concerns. Avoiding relegation just papers over what are much deeper, structural issues at the club. The problems have been building for years and they run right through recruitment, identity, and direction. Staying in the league doesn’t suddenly make this a good side or a coherent project. For Spurs to become genuinely competitive again, and more importantly a team you actually want to watch, feels a long way off. It is not just about results, it is about the absence of any clear identity or spark. Right now, it feels like a club drifting rather than building, and that takes far more than survival to fix.

@heathswervain @change4spurs If you rate it by biggest wastes of money, then it has to be N’Dombele, Lo Celso and probably Saldado (it was a lot of money at the time). Sissoko was a lot of cash but he was at the club a while and did have to play all over the park so he narrowly escapes the 3 in my eyes!

@craig_dw Agreed. And the owners will sell any player who’s half decent to cover the costs of getting relegated. It’s a long dark road ahead for Spurs fans. Luckily, we’ve been treated like shite by the owners and laughed at by other clubs for years so it won’t be too hard to get used to.
