In other words, which update is the 'point of no return' where it doesn't feel Minecrafty anymore? IMO, everything until just after 1.9 (end cities/elytra) could be removed and I would be happy. Either that or after 1.14 (villager trading system). Everything after is just fluff.

If you removed updates one by one going back in time, when is Minecraft incomplete?
