Today was a better day on Bedford Avenue: Only eight vehicles (and one DSNY dumpster) were illegally double-parked in the bike lane this morning. Even so — and the video doesn't reflect this well — that's eight times I had to swerve into fast-moving oncoming traffic.

My sister volunteers for an organization that is composed of about ten people. The organization brings left-over produce and prepared food from farmers markets to refugees in her city. They have moved about 20,000 pounds of food to refugees. ~ ten consistent volunteers did that-

Just learned about Ken Isaacs' "Superchair" (1967).
Built-in book rest, shelves, lamp, drink tray, and a seat back that folds into a bed.
A place for "inventive work and the individual search for peace of mind", as he put it.
It was meant for people to build it themselves, hence the almost unfinished look. Blueprints were published in Popular Science in 1968.
