@rosscojmill Serious Q: was horse v. tired after race? I wasn’t there so don’t know; stewards’ report doesn’t say. I’ve watched replay of finish; in last 50m he doesn’t look v. tired. Possible that wnr/placers in GN will be more tired after than this horse was. Should their jockeys be banned?

Because “the whip” was banned from use in horse racing over 20 years ago and replaced with the ProCush which is fitted with a microchip which allows Stewards to monitor the frequency of use.

It would appear there has been some confusion last night and this morning over a Go Fund me page set up for Sprinter Sacre. The Go Fund me page was set up entirely independently of Seven Barrows and without Caroline Mould’s or our knowledge. Sprinter is currently with a Seven Barrows vet at Donnington Veterinary surgery, where he will undergo a minor procedure, funded entirely by Seven Barrows. This was always the plan from the moment I was made aware of the issue and we will continue to monitor the situation moving forward. Thankfully Sprinter is absolutely fine and will return to his Gloucestershire home tomorrow.

@jrmillman @OwnersforOwners seems every trainer. has been on TV 24/7 for 5 yrs telling us they cant get staff despite paying well above minimum wage, unless they were lying [ yes we no they were ] why should rise in minimum wage effect them, they were already paying above it

Trainers core income is trainers daily charges. Then 10% of prize money. If the trainer has less than 40 horses in full training they will struggle and will be constantly juggling cash. So the vast majority. A constant, demotivating, spiral of decline. They show such dedication.

@OwnersforOwners Do you have any idea Jon if the Trainers/Stables are reasonably financially supported from the Industry Pot or is their main income coming from Owners fees and sponsorship? It would be awful news for Racing if we see these Trainers giving up due to cash flow problems.
