Elmley NNR in Kent has been quite good this week with a showy juvenile Red-footed Falcon, a Merlin catching a Ringed Plover and a juvenile Pec Sand my highlights.

Hothfield looking good this morning getting back to its former glory

My 31 yrs of surveying TQ5371, a 1km sq of largely farmland, houses and horse paddocks, has produced a list of 74 species. I added 2 today; Little Egret and Whimbrel, both fly-overs. Sadly I've lost Turtle Dove, House Martin and Yellowhammer and seen much decline. @BBS_birds

I did my "early" Breeding Bird Survey visit to TQ5371, a 1km square just inside the M25 at Wilmington, south of Dartford this morning. It's my 31st year surveying this square and it was wonderful to still be recording Corn Buntings after all that time. @BBS_birds
