@PotnoodIefringe Have this in Leighton Buzzard as well. The first time I experienced it I was so annoyed, I sent a very lengthy and angry voice note to my brother 😂😂

creating music is so fun, cause there’s an infinite number of possibilities for where you could take the sound.

music isn’t moving you because you don’t sit with it or give anything time to resonate. yall treat songs/albums like single-use items & wonder why nothing sticks.

This might be the most important part of being a creative. It’s not talent, It’s not resources, It’s not even connections. It’s STORYTELLING. Pay close attention to this, mastering it can completely change your game. 👉🏽 Retweet & bookmark, another creative needs to see this.

Creative people should only make art when they feel inspired not just for the sake of the performance and other people’s consumption

A&R DUTY
A&R DUTY@Aandrduty·
The next frontier of the music ecosystem isn’t just about artists or labels… it’s the A&Rs. They are the ones who scout, shape, and scale talent often long before the spotlight finds it. As the industry evolves, their role is becoming indispensable. Ignore them at your own risk.

The most cut throat industry there is! Gotta grit ya teeth and keep pushing sometimes. And remember that if you don’t believe in yourself, you’ve lost half the battle!

@awilkinson Seriously? AI is not a patch on the talent, passion and hard work that is INGRAINED in theatre and performing arts kids! The fact that you’re advocating for this is concerning honestly. Do you love the creative industries or not?

@acfreedmanlaw I think it’s a mix of both. You’ve gotta know someone to get you in the door but that isn’t gonna happen unless you’ve got a decent product!

So many artists think they need connections but they really just need better music 🙃

Just in case anyone in the #musicindustry has forgotten, always read your contracts and for goodness sake hire a lawyer.. the amount of artists I’ve seen get screwed over by the small print in record deals is staggering

A&R DUTY
A&R DUTY@Aandrduty·
Here’s the part most artists don’t realize. you’re not just splitting with the label. The game runs deeper, and even the A&R who believed in you, fought for you, and signed you might also participate in your royalties.

@Aandrduty I think it’s deeper than that. You HAVE to focus on building genuine fan connections. Humans connect with humans, if your fans know who you are beyond your latest hit and can connect with you, you’ve won half the battle. Your music has gotta be killer too though!

Industry knowledge can open doors, but only the music keeps them open. In 2025, is “good music” still enough or do you need more to last? You can have the best strategy, best roll-out, best marketing but if the music doesn’t connect, the foundation crumbles.

@witnessmeflop It’s a business at the end of the day, as much as it pains me to say it. If songs aren’t commercial, they won’t make money therefore they’re no good in the eyes of execs. Do I agree with it? No. Do I understand it and the reasons for it? Yes.

The problem with the music industry isn’t that it’s losing artistry or creativity, they still exists but instead of making objectively good songs like jealous type hits, execs choose more easily marketable trendy songs like ordinary or a bar song to push to the mainstream x.com/hard_tingz/sta…

When someone introduces you to a new contact in the music industry, they’re vouching for you If you disappear or act unprofessionally, it doesn’t just impact your reputation—it can damage the trust and relationships of the person who made the introduction.
