@nandafyi That's actually exactly what they show! I like the idea of being able to toggle between the isolated preview for that node and the network up to the point.

@gavin_atk I love this! Reminds me of blender’s shader nodes What if the preview shows what the filter looks like up to that point? So it includes the current node but also everything connected up to it

@nandafyi In later versions I did away with on-node UI altogether, showing only the filter preview. This was a bit better but still it's hard to follow exactly what the filter network is doing

@nandafyi One thing I found really difficult was to find the most easy-to-use way of representing the filter graph... wasn't totally happy with the node-based approach

I’m calling it. Creative software is dead. It’s the end of an era. Creative software 1.0 was about separating specific tasks into domains. Vector graphics, NLE, motion graphics, image editing, 3D, audio editing, compositing, etc. are highly specialized fields.

Dear web developers & designers, Now that you know what’s coming in Safari 17 — as well as what shipped in Safari 16.2-16.5 — what do you need in WebKit next? Which web technology that’s already been standardized is highest priority? What brand new idea do you need invented?

fundamentally this is a comment about the programming paradigm, compiler, etc. but there is a lot of low hanging fruit wrt market efficiency in audits and new methods for hedging risk.

I consider Figma a powerful cloud-based kernel for UI & graphics. I just need an API to run remote agents. Or at least, a headless Figma.

I just refuse to believe that some industries are moving on like this and we need a 10 step tutorial to get to a hello world and we argue about runtime css and classnames
