"EYE-WATERING": “Fuel taxes reached a record €4.3bn last year .. Carbon tax reached €1.17bn. Carbon tax is 80% higher now than it was 5 years ago. These figures don’t include tax on electricity which is estimated to be another €300m," Tóibín said. gript.ie/fuel-taxes-rea…

The Taoiseach, Micheál Martin, completely misled the Dáil today by claiming that 100% of carbon tax revenue is ring-fenced for retrofitting homes. That is simply not true. A report from the Comptroller and Auditor General shows that only 61% of carbon tax funds are actually going to the areas they were intended for. The public deserves honesty and transparency, not spin.

#NUFC were FORCED to sell Elliot Anderson for £35m. A year and a half later he is expected to fetch around £100m. Weve taken a £65m hit SO WE DON'T break the rules. Meanwhile actual rule breakers Chelsea win multiple PLs and cup, become a top 6 side with all the perks, £10m fine.

The absolute neck on some people The state of this article.. Three business owners interviewed about how “times are about to get tough” But here is the real story: Dennis McGettigan’s is a director of Rocco Green Limited, which has been paid €11million+ in IPAS His family McGettigan hotel group has taken in €90million from IPAS.... yet he still claims “the cost of running a business in Ireland is crippling.” Not for you it ain't buddy. Ciaran Marron, CEO of solar company Activ8. His wife, Orla Marron, is a director of High Grove Property, which has received over €8.6 million in IPAS since 2023. The other directors are John and Gary McEnaney, ownership split 50/50. These people are not struggling. In fact, they are doing BETTER THAN EVER... All paid for by you If anything the war will be boom time for asylum contractors. But the money isn't enough for them They want the limelight. They see themselves as the backbone of the country. They want to be adored 🤮 🤮 🤮 (Amazing how the Indo does'nt report any of this)

This story is so screwed up, but bottom line, we're jailing one Somalia for two years (cost €200,000) and processing two Somalia (cost €122,000 apiece) asylum seekers who arrived here on stolen passports. And Gript is the only outlet reporting it!

Scrap the planned carbon tax increase, reduce taxes on petrol, diesel and home heating oil during this crisis, and bring forward real cost-of-living support for workers and families. Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael could do this with the stroke of a pen - but they refuse. What are they waiting for? I will keep pushing to see action for you and your family.

@courtsnewsIRL Dangerous driver, should absolutely be banned from driving. If he hits a pedestrian in a 5 tonne bus, they'll be killed. Orla Crowe should be held personally accountable if he injures/kills anyone driving during the period he should've been banned.

A bus driver who ran a red light in his private car and knocked down an e-scooter rider as she went through a pedestrian crossing has escaped a driving disqualification. Counsel for Svetoslav Trifonov (46) had asked Judge Orla Crowe not to ban him from the roads, as his career is dependent on his license. courtsnewsireland.ie/bus-driver-who…

@MsiDouglas Every single game with these referees, there needs to be relegation for inept officials. Teams go up and down the leagues based on merit, refs should have to do the same. @FA_PGMOL

If you think the triple lock isn’t important, have a look at McEntees words today. The triple lock has never been more important. Our neutrality should only be adjusted by referendum. The politicians cannot be trusted.

@HLTCO Officiating is killing it, not var specifically. Refereeing standards are terrible League has a meritocracy, should be same with refs. Refs performance in each game should be independently graded, worst 5 avg shld be relegated to championship and best 5 of their refs promoted

I don’t know if it’s just the echo-chamber of my Twitter algorithm but it really does feel, this season in particular, as though a hell of a lot of people are falling out of love with the Premier League. Crucially not with football as a whole but with the Prem particularly.
Green Scouser@Green_Scouser

Does any neutral fan enjoy watching games of football anymore when their team isn't involved? I think the PL is at its lowest ever level in terms of entertainment. The nonsense during det pieces, poor standard of refereeing and too much play acting has made it unwatchable
