I feel sorry for Mamadashvilli, he’s actually making a lot of great saves, but he can’t buy a clean sheet, the team are that shot in front of him, he’s picking the ball out the net all the time

If you play that way and get a nil nil then great, tactical masterclass, but fuck me, that was shit, we’re nothing like what we were a year ago, where has his philosophy gone? Who even is he at this moment?

Long throws, set pieces and a back 5. Whatever this sides identity was under Slot, or what he was looking to achieve here, has all but gone. Weird to say a manager who won the title last season is completely out of his depth, but here we are.

@_lfcleanne There's only two of them in there times, CBs don't know whether to drop in to the midfield or hold the line, not sure the formation is helping them.

Recovered ok, but the midfield looks short. Konate being dragged in where you don’t want him & Gravenberch looking a shadow of the player we saw last season, albeit often doing it all on his own. Lack of legs and positioning are recurring worries.

No they’re not, that’s 6 minutes of a podcast of 1 hour, and many many podcasts they do every week. They are probably the most logical and considered podcast out there, and have took a while to consider that Slot going might now be right for the club, but everyone on there has their own opinion, it’s not like ‘Slot Out’ is a site wide policy that they are conveying.

If you listen to this whole podcast as I did last night, there was a great section in it where they rightly discuss Diogo, the affect of his passing and they conclude the problem is.. we don’t know, and no-one can talk about it from the squad for fear of being accused of using it as an excuse. @johngibbonsblog

I think we have to be careful here. Most men rarely have to handle the grief of losing a best mate in their 20s. Alot of what he is talking about can be attributed to how people deal with grief. The players have been telling us all season, and I feel we simply nod and get on with our day. But they have to live with the realities. This is not about tactics or performances, etc., but more about how they have reacted after the tragedy. There's no right or wrong way, but it's incredibly hard to police. Maybe some of them just want to get out whenever they can, as the memories are too raw. It's such a unique situation, and one I'm sure will be studied and discussed for years to come.

@RobGutmann I wonder if they had indicators that he was going to wane from this season and they’ve got it wrong, or he would have waned in our league but that league is a bit less physical

@johngibbonsblog Well if they do, that shows that they are entitled little pricks. I would like to think they arn't, I hope so, and this should stir something in them. You haven't been out of order here, there's so much sincerity and it comes from a place that we all have. We love our club.

@ITKSpace I’d like to believe this and if I use my head, this is what I believe, but the club seems to be a bit chaotic at the moment on and off the pitch. Not about of certainty.

I want to emphasize this once again, not as a reiteration but from a position of complete clarity, the Liverpool hierarchy is operating in the background with precision, intent, and a fully aligned structure, and everything I am hearing across the industry, especially from well-placed connections in Germany tied to the relevant figures, consistently reinforces that this is not speculation but tangible, coordinated preparation, quite contrary to the softer narrative being communicated publicly through their media representatives, for whom I have great respect. The internal reality follows a far more structured and deliberate path, the groundwork is not being built now, it has already been laid, and the scenarios are not being considered in theory, they have already been mapped out in detail and aligned behind closed doors. Last summer stands as the clearest reference point, very few truly anticipated how precisely Liverpool executed their targets, yet internally it was the result of a process that had long been defined, and that same level of preparation is once again in motion, if not even more refined this time around, so while supporters may question those in charge, which is part of the process, there should be no doubt that every possible pathway has already been accounted for. In the end, the outcome will not be shaped by the work at senior level, as that process is already firmly in place, but by the ownership, how they choose to interpret the situation, when they decide the timing is right, and whether they are prepared to activate what has already been built behind the scenes, leaving the final step less a question of preparation and more one of intent, timing, and conviction.

@Nick___Collins @CupoDan Not a great look this really. He’s been great but he was as culpable as anyone of being passive yesterday. You don’t blame the fans when you’ve lost 20 matches in 12 months

I think this one image sums up the disconnect between the fans and the players at the moment. What a difference a year makes in that regard. They’re all millionaires and just seem totally disconnected from reality these days. The away fans especially, invest so much time and money into following the club. They’ll stay until the end and give as much support as they can - but if they see a manager and team who look like they can’t be arsed then you’ll lose their support. Liverpool fans don’t typically make banners and chant for their own manager being sacked, but leaving early and chanting for another manager is as close as you’re going to get. The tongue in cheek “Hodgson for England” chant was similar to what happened at the Etihad with the Alonso chant. The manager has slowly lost the fans, we all hoped he would turn it around but there is just no sign of it happening, surely the owners see that? I just don’t understand what Szoboszlai was trying to achieve too. He could see there was hardly any left, the ones that are left, are simply not going to applaud that capitulation. Time for change, before the rot truly sets in and we go back to winning the odd cup.

@robbopalmer Captain hindsight here. Bowing to fan pressure??? There’s not a single person who wouldn’t have resigned both of them, there would have been too much ‘fan pressure’ as you call it if they hadn’t of signed.

It’s understandable that Arne Slot comes under scrutiny given #LFC results and performances. The bigger picture was bowing to fan pressure to tie up Salah and VVD instead of signing successors. It is a winning squad light of Diaz, Jota, Quansah, Elliott and even Nunez.

I see him now animated on the line, but it's always aimed at the referee?! What about when someone strolls past Ekitike? or the midfield fail to press. Who is screaming at the players? Becasue no-one is doing that on the pitch #LFC

Sometimes, the players just need a different voice. There is no saving this in the summer by keeping Arne, and I say that affectionately of him. We need a change.

If there are not serious high level chats going on right now, at a hastily arranged video call, then we're not as smart as we thought we were. The longer this goes on, it looks not only negligent but seriously ignorant and blinkered. 1/2
