@sbABetterLeader When I started an immunosuppressant drug in my 40s, I had to get the shingles vaccine bc once you become immC, these latent viruses come up. Your immune system is holding a lot at bay that we don’t realize, waiting for its defences to weaken, usually with age, now with C19.

@ChrisAlvino There is no way I can ever figure out if it was a lab leak. Way above my pay grade. Way smarter people need to figure that out. What I can do is protect myself now that the virus is circulating.

I can explain it. The main reason is that most CC people are pragmatic, and there's no pragmatic reason to care about COVID's origin as a regular citizen. The pandemic is still spreading 7 years later. If it was a lab leak, that was just ONE of COUNTLESS safety failures

Can anyone explain to me what’s up with most people in the COVID conscious community not caring about the origins of the pandemic (which does involve a lab leak, we at least know that much) and holding those responsible accountable? Is it some sort of cognitive dissonance (which, of course, CC folks are not immune to) where it’s too painful to imagine that a handful of real people, who continue to go free, are directly responsible for everything that we’ve been dealing with for the past 6+ years and continue to deal with? So it’s just dismissed, and mostly just people who have “moved on” from the pandemic who are capable of caring? That maybe seems most likely to me, but I’m often left thoroughly confused, and I have no real idea. Whatever it is, it’s certainly annoying.

@MaskedHottiee I often feel like I fit nowhere. I don’t know anyone IRL who still masks. Online, CC don’t support me bc I do anything with an N95. They judge that I travel and go to the gym and concerts, all in an N95. They also say I should leave my family since they don’t mask. I have kids!

Covid did permanently damage my immune system, and it's taken six years and lots of trial and error with off label hiv drugs (with a doctor's guidance!!) to get semi functional again. If only the media would cover the reems of studies and personal stories demonstrating this 😏

@ringdinger7000 I’m extremely immunocompromised and don’t generate a meaningful amount of antibodies from the vaccine. Booster shots don’t do much for me that’s why I always mask in an N95. Covid can permanently damage your immune system
