Voting and having elections does not a democracy make. The Constitution itself declares that we shall have a republican form of government, which combined with the Founders' well-publicized disdain for democracy, demonstrates we are not a democracy.
The two are not the same things, even if they share elements, and no matter what your feelings may be.

In other words, all republics are democracies, but not all democracies are republics. They're are many types of representative government, but republics require elections.

@doracamposast @054durin @sola_chad As to the outside sources, there are two. Neither was an eyewitness, and Joseph's was, at best, edited by people trying to add non-biblical sources. So... secondary evidence all, no eyewitnesses (including the entire Bible), therefore not reliable as historical evidence.
