Hi fam Since the news about OS royalty NON-enforcement and our decision to respond by giving MORE (Magnum Opus Club will now receive their original, physical oil paintings at the project's end and Royalty Club will be able to mint every month), there's been a sea change. Puzzle pieces are falling into place. Acting contrary to fears of scarcity unshackles the creative spirit. Shedding expectations brings about profound peace and freedom. We feel emboldened to focus on exactly what's in front of us, fueled by our passion. To not gauge the success of Scales by metrics outside of our control, but by the degree to which we pour our whole hearts into our work each day. Our job is to keep beating our drum to our own drumbeat, each day louder than the last. Scales is about more than the NFTs, web3, paintings, pixels, profits, or utility. It is an exploration of the human experience through the habitual expression of creativity and generosity. It is an invitation to delve deeper into the essence of what it means to be human, to connect with our innate impulses, and to embrace the unknown with open hearts and minds. My work as an artist in this project is not only about pushing the limits of my medium, but my ability to hold the highest intention consistently. To remember that how I show up to the canvas, shows up on the canvas. It's about cultivating fearlessness and vulnerability, both inside and outside the studio, both in web3 and IRL. It's about allowing things to be exactly what they are, without judgment. It's about learning how to hold ambition and formlessness simultaneously. Above all, it's about love. What is the good life? What is radical generosity, really? These are the questions we seek to answer. Since we began this project, these ideas have shown themselves to be much more complicated and nuanced than we originally thought. The experiment and art performance within Scales is an invitation for others who seek answers. Every Scale represents one tiny step in this massive, insane, ambitious and glorious unfolding. We still don't know what it all means. But we can't wait to find out. Together. ♥️
