Finally got my first bobcat on the DSLR camera trap, looks like they weren’t interested in sharing roadkill with a raccoon

@vishalfoto @UCBerkeley Very cool! Bobcats have eluded my DSLR camera trap so far, they’re definitely on my wish list.

I photographed this bobcat with a DSLR camera trap in @UCBerkeley’s Blue Oak Ranch Reserve. This setup was meant for mountain lions, but it captures a lot of bobcat and gray fox activity.

@marcellajkelly Very cool! Do they eventually fade to black, or is it a lifelong marking?

Yes - sometimes they just have very light faces. They are born that way. It's cool!

@vishalfoto @marcellajkelly Yeah! This was the only bear I’ve ever had not mess with my camera trap. Looks like he just kept walking by.

An American Black Bear with some interesting coloration in the face. Anyone know what’s up with the light color in its face? Maybe @marcellajkelly knows. See other tweets for some more traditional looking black bears.

Gavriel Cambridge is working with Dr. Hession and Dr. Hotchkiss to research the impacts of beaver dams on the hydrology and biogeochemistry of agricultural streams to inform stream restoration practices that incorporate beaver populations. 🦫 #UndergraduateResearchWeek

Students from Dr. @JonCzuba and Dr. Cully Hession's research groups installed streamflow velocity sensors, pressured transducers to measure water height, and surveyed the locations of sensors and channel topography to collect data about how vegetation affects flood elevations. 🌊
