A Randolph County grand jury brought an indictment against a Woodland man after a family member came forward years after she said he raped her as a child.
Michael Joseph Spradlin, 57, was indicted on charges of second-degree sexual abuse, first-degree sodomy, first-degree rape and incest.
According to court documents, the girl was between the ages of 12 and 16 when the incidents occurred. The indictment accused Spradlin of having sexual intercourse with the child by “forcible compulsion.”
Spradlin is being held in the Randolph County Jail. He is considered innocent until proven guilty.

The trial is underway for a man who fled to Mexico with an underage teen girl who he was accused of repeatedly raping over a three-year span.
Kevin Esterly, 53, of Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania, is charged with rape, two counts of statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault of a person less than 13 years of age and endangering the welfare of children.

SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. (WIFR) - A South Beloit man was arrested on Wednesday after police say a search revealed he had child sexual abuse materials.
Aaron Hundley, 32, is charged with five counts of possession of child sexual abuse materials and one count of dissemination of child sexual abuse materials.

Lexington, TN – On March 2, 2026, the U.S. Marshals Service (USMS), with assistance from the Metro Nashville Police Department (PD), Lexington Police Department, and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), safely found a 15-year-old female who was reporting missing in Nashville, TN.
On July 2, 2023, a then 13-year-old child was reported missing by a parent to the Metro Nashville Police Department. Metro Nashville PD developed information that the child was possibly in Lexington, TN. Believing that the child was living in Jackson, Lexington police contacted U.S. Marshals for further assistance.

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — A 23-year-old woman is sitting in the Caddo Correctional Center after allegedly bringing a 15-year-old child to Shreveport from Longview, Texas.
On February 28, Shreveport Police officers responded to a dispute call at a hotel on Monkhouse Drive. The SPD Vice Unit was called in, and their investigation found that Monique Smith had brought the minor across state lines.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)— A man was arrested in connection with a child abduction and sexual assault investigation.
The Temple Terrace Police Department said it arrested Bryan Oyanguren Rosado, 25, on Tuesday around 10:12 p.m.
Officers began their investigation on March 2, after responding to a report of a missing 13-year-old girl at the Doral Oaks Apartment Complex.
During the investigation, the victim reported that she was abducted and sexually assaulted by an unknown man, officers said.

PIERRE PART, La. (WAFB) - Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Office announced the arrest of a 19-year-old from Texas in connection with the distribution of child sexual abuse material in Assumption Parish.
According to officials, Kyler Montelaro, of Lumberton, Texas, was arrested on Thursday, March 4, on twelve counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material (Distribution); Under the age of 13.

Over the past several weeks, the Logan County Sheriff’s Office has been actively investigating two incidents involving a runaway juvenile from Logan County.
On Jan. 21, 2026, at approximately 11:30 p.m., the Logan County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing 16-year-old juvenile from a residence in Russellville. During that investigation, it was determined the juvenile had been picked up by 19-year-old Arric Austin, Jr. of Nashville, Tenn.

A Randolph County man was arrested and jailed without bond after investigators said they developed probable cause in a child sex offense case.
The Randolph County Sheriff’s Office said it received information on Dec. 17, 2025, about a possible sex offense involving a minor. After an investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, charges were sought against Steven Richard Kassebaum for felony indecent liberties with a child.

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas – Six people have been arrested in connection with a multi-million-dollar gold scam that targeted elderly people across Texas, according to the Friendswood Police Department.
Investigators say the case began in December 2025, when an 81-year-old Friendswood resident was scammed into converting $766,000 into 177 one-ounce Canadian Gold Maple Leaf coins after a caller falsely claimed to be a federal employee and told the victim their financial accounts were compromised.
Police later determined a similar scheme had been used earlier in September 2025, when a 76-year-old Friendswood resident lost $134,000.
Through the investigation, police identified multiple suspects and eventually recovered $766,000 worth of gold coins belonging to the Friendswood victim.
Friendswood police say the following six people have been arrested and charged in connection with the organized fraud operation:
Smitaben Thakor, 43, of Sugar Land – arrested Dec. 29, 2025, on a Galveston County warrant for Theft from an Elderly Person. Bond set at $1 million.
Samirali Ghabrani, 48, of Missouri City – arrested Dec. 31, 2025, and charged with Theft of Property $300,000. Bond set at $1 million. Authorities say he is also being held on an immigration hold at the Galveston County Jail.
Mudassir Iqbal Lakhani, 35, of Richmond – arrested after a search warrant was executed at a home in Richmond. Charged with Theft of Property $300,000 with a $5 million bond.
Iqbal Ibrahim Lakhani, 60, of Richmond – arrested at the same residence and charged with Theft of Property $300,000. Bond set at $5 million.
Zohaib Muhammad, 39, of Kingwood – arrested March 4, 2026, during a search warrant execution in Kingwood. Charged with Theft of Property $300,000 (Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity) with a $5 million bond.
Samir Ali, 36, of Atascocita – arrested during a traffic stop near his home on a warrant for Theft of Property $300,000 (Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity) with a $5 million bond.

MINNEAPOLIS — At the former Future Leaders Early Learning Center at 36th and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis, the signage is strewn in the playground.
But last year, there was no daycare in the entire state of Minnesota that received as much Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) money as Future Leaders — $3.7 million, according to state data collected by KARE 11, totalling $10.2 million over the last four years.
