🇫🇮 Finland Announces Military Exercises Near Russian Borders The Finnish Navy will conduct Exercise Narrow Waters 26-1 in the Gulf of Finland from May 18 to 29. The maneuvers will also include coastal areas of Southern Finland and the Archipelago Sea. A total of approximately 3,000 military personnel will participate in the exercises. The main objective is to test readiness for operations in real-world warfare conditions. The training activities will include extensive use of naval and aerial unmanned systems. The Finnish military will be joined by foreign contingents: a coastal jaeger company of the 🇩🇪German Navy (approximately 100 personnel) and approximately 30 🇺🇸US Marines.

Every fifth Russian admits the possibility of mass protests in the country due to a drop in living standards The share of Russian citizens who admit the possibility of mass protests in connection with a decline in living standards in the country has reached 20%. Another 14% of those surveyed consider protests with political demands possible. These are the results of a study by "Levada-Center" — both indicators have reached their maximum since July 2024. Compared to the November survey, the number of those who believe in the possibility of economic protests has increased by 4 percentage points (from 16%), and political ones — by 3 points (from 11%). The willingness to personally participate in political actions has increased by 1 percentage point, to 12%. At the same time, the share of potential participants in economic protests, on the contrary, has decreased by 1 percentage point, to 16%. The survey was conducted from April 22 to 29.

BREAKING: Trump melts down in China after Xi Jinping insulted the United States — and Trump was too stupid to realize it in the moment. The Thucydides Trap is a geopolitical concept coined by political scientist Graham Allison that refers to the historical truism that a declining hegemonic power often comes into violent conflict with a rising power. It takes its name from the Greek historian Thucydides, whose historical account of the Peloponnesian War recounts how Athens and Sparta came to military blows because the latter feared the former's ascendancy. In this analysis, the United States represents Sparta and China represents Athens. So while Xi was perhaps not technically insulting America, he was implying that we are a waning empire. And looking at the demented sex offender leading us, who could argue otherwise? The Chinese are strategizing the best ways to shape their relationship with the United States to benefit their people and position them as the world's dominant superpower. Trump is sitting cooped up in his hotel raging about a partisan political rival. What's more, if Xi were to compare Trump and Biden, he would invariably have to conclude that the latter was a far stronger leader. Trump has devastated and hobbled America by slashing our scientific and medical research, crushing the work class, undermining our military alliances with Europe, and starting a war with Iran that — despite what he wants us to believe — he's losing. Above all else, Trump is a gift to America's adversaries. To put this in even simpler terms, China is building high-speed rails and glittering cities of neon and glass.
