One of the books which changed my outlook of life was "Extreme money" by Satyajit Das. My favourite quote from the book "Debt (once a source of shame) became an essential part of the modern lifestyle." When I see #centralbanks spew bs about deflation I laugh to myself.

@iamBrianBJ In any case, what is striking is that this reveals the absence of a consistent plan and any constructive policy for winning allies in the region. On the contrary, it projects an image of an administration that disregards and even disrespects those allies.

Trump’s 20% Although the press is reporting this as something solid and that the president has been thinking about for some time, it is unfeasible. It is more in Trump’s style to tell his allies: “The only way to avoid this is if you join me in an attack on Iran.”He is creating one more problem and then putting the only solution on the table. This is classic Trump, and we can clearly perceive the difference in subtlety when something comes directly from him versus when it is carefully formulated by the professionals at the Pentagon.

@tradingview Third breakout out of the channel in progress. The price could not come down to the lower channel line post second breakout failure. Indicates severe weakness, at least to me. Third time, the charm? Severe weakening ahead?? #USDINR $USDINR #Nifty US dollar to Indian Rupee

@tradingview Thanks to dummy Ir@n and all the goof ups from them, #USDINR channel breakout seems to have failed. It is quite possible that it can test the bottom of the channel at around 93 levels. No credit to RBI or Indian economy, only to dummy Ir@n. $USDINR US dollar to Indian Rupee

@najam_ali All this is fine, knowing all this, why did General Paneer risk the reputation of Pak by mediating? Did he hope for a miracle or was he plain dumb?

It amazes me how casually some people call Iran the aggressor without even reading the MoU. The agreement makes it clear that, during the 60-day interim period, Iran would facilitate and manage traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Now ask yourself one simple question: if ships were already passing safely under that arrangement, why did the U.S. encourage ships to use the Omani side of the Strait instead? The answer is straightforward. Iran’s leverage over Hormuz was never acceptable to Washington. First Israel openly challenged the spirit of the MoU. Then the U.S. did the same. While Iran was burying its leaders, Washington moved to alter the status quo in the Strait. From Tehran’s perspective, that crossed a red line.

As the war in Iran escalates, it’s critical to remember the role Israel played in drawing us into this mess: Israel convinced Trump that assassinating the Ayatollah would result in a swift U.S. victory, similar to the removal of Maduro from Venezuela. Now, despite the obvious and concerning security and sovereignty implications, our own Congress is trying to merge our military w/ Israel: responsiblestatecraft.org/us-israel-inte…
Joe Kent@joekent16jan19

This week the Senate will vote to merge our military’s most sensitive & secretive capabilities with Israel. This merger is buried within the massive NDAA and they’re hoping you won’t notice. Merging our military with a foreign country is a treasonous betrayal of our sovereignty. Call your senators & tell them to vote no on the NDAA until the merger w/ Israel (section 219) is taken out. Tell them that we will never support merging our military with a foreign nation. The senate switchboard number is: (202) 224-3121.
