One of the books which changed my outlook of life was "Extreme money" by Satyajit Das. My favourite quote from the book "Debt (once a source of shame) became an essential part of the modern lifestyle." When I see #centralbanks spew bs about deflation I laugh to myself.

🚨UPDATE 🚨 Civil Defense sources told Al-Akhbar: the location of journalist Amal al-Khalil has been identified in the house that was destroyed by an Israeli strike while she was inside with journalist Zeinab Faraj. Excavation efforts are now underway to reach her. Two Israeli airstrikes on the town of al-Tayri, in the Bint Jbeil district, killed two people & injured one. Efforts to rescue Amal al-Khalil are still ongoing. Israeli forces pursued Khalil & Faraj after the first strike. The two journalists had taken shelter in a nearby house, which was then struck. When the Lebanese Red Cross arrived to evacuate the wounded, they were prevented from completing the mission. A stun grenade was fired at the ambulance & it came under gunfire, forcing crews to withdraw before reaching Khalil. Faraj was transported to hospital along with the bodies of the two victims. The Ministry of Public Health condemned these actions, describing them as a clear double violation: obstructing the rescue of a civilian journalist & targeting an ambulance clearly marked with the Red Cross.

🚨BREAKING🚨Israeli forces are now issuing direct death threats to Lebanese journalists on WhatsApp as well as besieging them. Al-Akhbar correspondent @AmalKhalil83, who has been documenting the devastation across southern Lebanon, received these messages from an Israeli number (+972 54-869-5113): “We know where you are… we will reach you… leave if you want to keep your head on your shoulders.” First message: “Alright, my lady, you are moving from one village to another, but you still haven’t gone to enough funerals or hospitals. There is a lot of grief & sorrow behind that smile you try to show on Twitter. Let’s see what your answer will be… Is your house still standing, Anisa (Miss)? I hope so?” Second message: “We know where you are & we will reach you when the time comes. Even though you are not important to us, in the end we will take everything into account. I suggest you flee to Qatar or somewhere else if you want to keep your head connected to your shoulders :)” This is not intimidation. This is the IDF issuing an explicit death threat to a journalist for covering their crimes. At the same time, Israeli forces besieged Amal al-Khalil & journalist Zeinab Faraj in al-Tayri, blocking the Red Cross & Lebanese Army from reaching them. They were in a delegate vehicle when a drone strike hit a vehicle behind them, killing two people. Both journalists were trapped at the scene. Amal contacted the Red Cross before her phone died. Her last message confirmed she was still safe. Rescue teams still cannot reach the two besieged journalists, Amal al-Khalil & Zeinab Faraj. They are just 500 meters away, but the road has been cut off by an Israeli strike, according to Red Cross paramedics. This is targeting journalists in real time. This is a crime. Pure state terrorism against the press.

To be honest, Pak is trying to save their backside. This is because if the war resumes and Saudis invoke defence pact, Pak will be in a pickle and forced to join this war , which is unpopular with their population. So they have all incentive to defuse it and walk away with credits if successful!

Many in Pakistan are suggesting we scale back our mediation role. They are missing the bigger picture. We have already invested significant time and strategic capital into this process. Today, there is no country with a clearer, 360-degree understanding of the positions of both the U.S. and Iran. More importantly, despite every twist and turn, Pakistan continues to enjoy the trust of both sides, something that cannot be built overnight and cannot be easily replaced. Walking away now would be a strategic mistake. At this stage, Pakistan is not just participating in conflict resolution, it is central to it.

@VamsiTatavarthy @tradingview Yes, once the pair #USDINR reaches a critical rolling mass, speed will not be under the control of RBI, I think. Their magazine is almost empty and they are facing the Hulk! (geopolitical crisis -> high oil prices, fertilisers, food inflation...). Isn't it?

Let me make this very simple for people to understand what is happening now. Trump is desperately trying to get out of this disastrous war he started, but on his own terms. The Iranians are not giving him an inch of space to do that.

🇮🇷 BREAKING! Iran Pulls Out of Wednesday Islamabad Talks — Tasnim News Iran has formally notified the United States through Pakistani mediators that it will not attend Wednesday's scheduled negotiations in Islamabad, with no timeline set for future rounds, according to Tasnim News Agency. The decision follows what Tehran describes as a pattern of American bad faith since the ceasefire framework was agreed upon. According to Tasnim's sources, Iran accepted a ceasefire and subsequent negotiations based on a 10-point framework it submitted — which Washington formally accepted through Pakistani intermediaries. However, the U.S. almost immediately began walking back its commitments. First, Washington failed to pressure Israel into implementing the Lebanon ceasefire as agreed — stalling talks for several days. Then, during the first Islamabad round, the U.S. introduced demands that far exceeded the original framework, effectively torpedoing the negotiations. Tehran's assessment: having failed on the battlefield, Washington was trying to compensate through maximalist demands at the table. Iran subsequently issued a firm warning of missile strikes on Israel, which Tasnim says forced the U.S. to finally operationalize the Lebanon ceasefire. Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi then announced Tehran would reopen the Strait of Hormuz to commercial shipping in line with the initial framework — only for the U.S. to continue its naval blockade regardless. Recent message exchanges produced no meaningful progress, with Washington refusing to retreat from demands Tehran considers violations of Iran's sovereign rights. Iran has now concluded that returning to talks under these conditions would be a waste of time, as the U.S. is blocking any viable agreement. The decision has been communicated to Washington via Islamabad.

Iran needs to be clear, fast. If it is not attending the meeting in Pakistan, it must spell out why: is it the port blockade? the deal terms? or both? Because silence comes at a cost. Iran earned global sympathy as the underdog. It risks losing that quickly if it appears evasive or inconsistent. The bigger concern is strategic judgment. War may have created leverage but leverage is fleeting. It can disappear in days if not converted into outcomes. History is a harsh reminder. In 1988, after years of war and immense losses, Iran was forced to accept a deal it once resisted. Leverage unconverted is leverage lost. And misreading the moment can turn advantage into regret, very quickly.

From the Farsi: Trump, by imposing a siege and violating the ceasefire, seeks to turn this negotiating table— in his own imagination— into a table of surrender or to justify renewed warmongering. We do not accept negotiations under the shadow of threats, and in the past two weeks, we have prepared to reveal new cards on the battlefield.

The Deal Is Coming. This is not a war post. It is a deal post. Trump is doing what he always does before a compromise: attack the old deal, discredit past leaders, and declare that his version will be far better.

🇮🇷🇺🇸 Iran's President: Iranians DO NOT Submit to Force Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian: Honoring commitments is the basis of meaningful dialogue. Deep historical mistrust in Iran toward U.S. gov conduct remains, while unconstructive & contradictory signals from American officials carry a bitter message; they seek Iran's surrender. Iranians do not submit to force.
