@Averagejeff2 @DPJHodges 50-70% of of the white English race have ancestry that pre-dates the Anglo-Saxon invasion. The Angles, Saxons and Jutes were the originally boat people, invading our English shores.

@DPJHodges Kier starmer is passive aggressively threatening the genocide of white British Anglo saxons. We are a race. He's guilty of planning genocide

I still don't really understand Keir Starmer. He finally decides to be publicly critical of Trump. But he chooses as his main point of attack energy prices, rather than him threatening genocide against an entire civilisation.

Trump's actions contributed directly to the defeat of right-wing parties in general elections in Australia and Canada. Outside the US, he is very unpopular. That is a fact that the people at the top of Reform might like to consider.

@DavidMcgre79677 @ElectionMapsUK I agree bills shouldn't be a melange of different issues, but as the assisted dying bill shows there are a myriad of details that have to be covered for any single, important issue.

@gecantab @ElectionMapsUK Again a bill should be one subject. If you look at the children's online safety bill .There's sections on illegal migrants in there !! This is what we would call out ! Current bill pending is governments full access to our devices. We are private citizens, this we should have a say

@PlanFluor @PaulEmbery The UK right is overwhelmingly supported by national newspapers, who also set the political agenda for the BBC. The BBC is so scared of being accused of being biased against Farage that is gives him coverage as though he and his "party" were the official opposition.

@DavidMcgre79677 @ElectionMapsUK This might work for second readings of bills, but the devil is in the detail, and there's no way we can expect voters to have studied ever clause in a bill.

Private equity controls our lives from the cradle to the grave. Profiteers by owning hospitals, nurseries, housing, care homes, undertakers. Business model - high prices, low staffing/wages, high debt, asset-stripping. Profits for few, misery for many. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Dame Caroline Wilson who has been appointed as the new UK Ambassador and Head of the UK Mission to the European Union will for the first time have full Cabinet rank to ease the new "realignment and rejoin" process after Brexit is ended.

@JohnRentoul Lib Dems, and before them the Liberals, always had more in common with Labour than the Tories. However there has always been a strong authoritarian streak in Labour that often prevents greater cooperation.

Last year there were 14,651 murders in America involving guns. Britain? 32 So I suspect even you can see where the problem is. And we’re nowhere near an Islamist abyss.
James Woods@RealJamesWoods

Our friends, the Brits, went from relinquishing their right to bear arms in 1997 to standing on the edge of the Islamist abyss today. Our Second Amendment is not about the right to go duck hunting, folks. It’s about keeping power in the hands of The People.

@OutlierBlackBox @PaulEmbery For decades during the Cold War western democracies tolerated terrorist regimes in Eastern Europe, the USSR, China, and much of South America.

@PaulEmbery Not that it matters or anyone cares what you think, but how exactly would YOU talk to a terrorist regime that hung people from cranes??? 🤔 No wonder the West has become so weak. It really is in a state of delusions of grandeur.

Jeez, what an argument. Basically amounts to: "Yes, the most powerful man in the world threatens mass violence and invasion on a regular basis. But, hey, he often lies, so just chill out everyone." Like it's all a big game. Like it's perfectly fine for the president of the US to behave in such an aggressive and erratic manner, and anyone who expresses concern about it is overreacting. Lordy.
Ben Leo@benleo444

Feeling bad right now for those who take Trump at his every word. A few months ago it was invading Greenland. Everyone lost their minds. Now he shitposts about end of civilisation and everyone takes the bait. You’ll probably see a deal struck soon. Just enjoy the ride 🍿

@GavinBarwell Few homes were started because developers don’t see enough projects as safe and profitable. Until some constraints ease - interest rates, planning speed, regulatory costs, or sales demand - we won't see a strong recover. Some of these are within the Mayor's control, some aren't.

@DavidMcgre79677 @ElectionMapsUK We certainly can't get into the concept of having a local referendum on how its local MP should vote on a bill in the HoC, so what precisely do you want to change in the current arrangements? 2/

@DavidMcgre79677 @ElectionMapsUK I'm unclear what you're expecting. We currently restrict referendums to major constitutional issues, and in any case the views of individual constituencies are overridden in a national ( and sometimes regional) referendum. 1/

@JohnWil63561415 @premnsikka The dividends were actually quite low. The money was extracted through interest payments on debt to foreign financial institutions.

Effective rate of UK corporation tax (CT) is lower than the headline rate because of tax reliefs and subsidies. We are told that low tax rates boost investment, but UK is at or near the bottom of the OECD investment league. Water companies paid dividends, neglected investment.
