@champtgram Its not falling off - it's slowly correcting itself. I'd bet that apartment was 1900 in like 2018

@h0987136 @Kekkama97 @bestplayeratlas Even when I was homeless around DC it was hilariously expensive, rent a tiny that you would confuse for a closeg in even a questionable area - like 1300, rent a studio, 1500, one bedroom was like 1700? Sleep in car? Free. Occasionally get harassed.

Rent for one bedroom is $1,700. That means you need over $4,600 a month just to qualify. Show me the 23 year old making $71,000 a year for a starter apartment. Ill wait

@h0987136 @Kekkama97 @bestplayeratlas I am glad you had better luck than I, but after so many bad and less than good experiences rooming with people, sleeping in my car was a lot more peaceful and secure

@TheLaurenChen Ultimately it's the entitlement of the business owner not wanting to pay a fair wage, they want customers to subsidize their business further. Much like many big retail giants paying pitiful wages to the point their employees are on food stamps, and getting tax credits..

Assuming these people were at the restaurant for 2 hours A $60 tip means this server made $30/hour off this ONE TABLE Is that not enough for a waiter to make? Does being a waiter really need to be a $150/hour job? The entitlement behind a lot of tipping culture is insane

@h0987136 @Kekkama97 @bestplayeratlas that's the norm to have to pay the unit rent as a whole, regardless of if another signatory can't/won't pay. The landlords care about getting paid, they aren't your uncle giving you a place to sleep. They're in it for the money. And most people aren't worth living with.

@geekymutt @Kekkama97 @bestplayeratlas You picked the wrong roommates, and if you had to cover their rent, you signed the wrong lease agreement. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience, but it's very feasible to live with roommates if you're selective.

@h0987136 @Kekkama97 @bestplayeratlas I lost more in six months having roommates than I did 3 years being homeless. I also didn't have to pay for their share of rent because they drank too often, my guns never went missing when I was homeless, and I didn't have to worry about anyone stealing my shit.

Serious question: Is there any programmer left in the room still coding the traditional way, character by character, without using AI? If so, why? Explain your reasoning.

@bestplayeratlas $1,700 for a one bedroom. In what city. Median one bedroom in the US is closer to $1,100. This tweet picked the scariest number from the most expensive zip code and applied it universally.
