BITCOIN CAN SHORTEN YOUR PATH TO FIRE. FIRE practitioners typically use a 4% withdrawal rate to plan for their FI number. That means for every $40k in anticipated annual expenses, you need to save $1 million. This assumes ~9% average nominal return in the stock market index to sustain that spending level for 30+ years in retirement. Bitcoin will likely grow in value much faster than the stock market given its asymmetric potential. Assuming a conservative 20% annualized return going forward allows savers in bitcoin to pull their FI date forward and/or increase their withdrawal rate. Of course, this comes with higher volatility, but that has historically been more than offset by its higher returns in purchasing power. A bitcoin allocation can be dialed up and down depending on individual circumstances, but it's very hard to argue for a 0% allocation at this point.

@unchainedcom Only thing I don't like about Multisig is the configuration file. It reveals your holdings if it's ever found and you have to keep it with your keys letting thieves /extortionists know what you have. Keys + Passphrase kept separately doing reveal anything.

🧵 I was 8 years old when I committed to pursue baseball. At 9, my coach told me I should quit and play soccer. Don Larsen came to our league and said 1/30,000 kids plays pro. By 10, I’d spent hours reading Nolan Ryan’s Pitchers Bible, Wade Boggs’s Technique of Modern Hitting

And only one of these is decentralized, permissionless, doesn’t spy on you, and works from any country on Earth.

what the regime has managed to accomplish with the phrase "conspiracy theory" is absolutely fascinating in terms of sociology and linguistics. they've incepted that any such designation must be both false and silly. but do you think there are no conspiracies?
