This strike isn't just about the pay of staff on permanent contracts, it's about the casualisation and precarity of academic jobs. Before getting my job at UEA in 2013 I worked for years as an hourly paid lecturer. I worked at Royal Holloway, Birkbeck, QMUL, & Uni of Surrey.
