@l0v3m00N idk where u have been but i have been shitting on pball endlessly lmao, not that misogynistic comments r in any way okay but it’s more of a frustration of actors being in fans business which has been a trend in the last couple of days, esp yesterday

yes i think they have chemistry no i dont care about this ship but it gets weird when she expresses these thoughts which she's immediately attacked for even though i swear patrick has said the same shit about their dynamic

every time she says she thinks mel is asexual and/or thinks of them more as friends too many people respond with some variation of "well they should fuck nasty" or something even more misogynistic and i think that's why she feels the need to reiterate this thought every two days
taylor dearden & patrick ball news@pdeardzcrave_

Taylor Dearden weighs for @screenrant in on the Mel and Langdon dynamic, sharing why she believes a stable platonic friendship is far more powerful than a typical 'will-they-won't-they' romance: “Patrick and I actually completely agree [seeing the relationship as caring/platonic]. We talked about this second season with, once we heard that everyone was shipping [us], it was kind of like — one of my best friends is a straight guy, and some of his friends are straight women, and it's just like, ‘Why does that have to be a thing? Why can't we just be two people who are friends?’ And this idea that because we're opposite gender, and have the potential, I guess, in people's minds, to be attracted to each other, that that has to happen, which truthfully, I think it's way more powerful and more true to my life also to have just platonic friendships. Also, platonic friendships, it's very hard to break that up. It would take a huge falling out for that to end. I also like the idea of Mel having someone way more stable, and not having the will-they-won't-they, or anything like that, but the idea that, ‘Yeah, he'll be there.’ He'll be there for her, and she'll be there for him. And the other romantic stuff, I don't know, we didn't ever think of it that way. And also, it's weird to me because he is married with two children, and it just feels like, ‘Well, that's something I don't think Langdon or Mel would ever do.’ Also, really like the friendship thing. Both Patrick and I, we understand, but we're not bummed, but a little bit bummed, because it's like, ‘Oh, we thought we were portraying a unique thing to see on TV, because you always see shipping, but you don't see platonic friends,’ and we both kind of wanted that. I get it, though. It's kind of a trope. It would be a trope, and I don't think The Pitt really does trope stuff like that.”

@yousaidyes26 @kcrlfs i get that but doubling down on it is tiring and they should all know better. yes okay this isn’t greys anatomy realistically i know langdonmel is never gonna happen but it’s fun to imagine and it’s fun to interpret things however u want. no one wants someone in their ear saying

@geminisquaredd @kcrlfs I mean it’s not just on them, Scott Gemmill himself has said this exact same thing. I don’t think Patrick and Taylor are pulling this interpretation out of thin air, but I can see why the repetitiveness in the answers can become annoying for sure.

i just don't know that i think an entirely platonic on-screen relationship is ever more interesting to me than one with a degree of sexual or romantic tension

@yousaidyes26 @kcrlfs they need to keep it to themselves! i don’t care if that’s harsh, it undermines the story. not only does it make things less fun for the fans but telling us how to view the show defeats the purpose of watching. when actors say their opinions it feels canon when it’s not

@kcrlfs I think kingdon is a cute ship, but I also understand where Taylor and Patrick are coming from especially in reference to tropes and this particular show. I think in any other show they’d probably be canon tbh

@kcrlfs quite frankly it’s boring! if they rly want to do the whole deep loving connection thing that’s honestly not possible if you’re JUST friends as a straight male and straight woman. imagine his wife finding out he’s sooo close to a random coworker… puts it into perspective a bit

people aren’t going to want to hear it but shoving nsfw fanart in an actors face, presumably without warning or asking, is a form of sexual harassment. even if they were seemingly okay with it that doesn’t make it okay.
dot 🗡️ alicent akgae@butchshauna

and no i don’t think official media platforms should be tweeting about ao3, interviewers shouldn’t be showing nsfw fanon ship fanart to actors, and actors shouldn’t be reading thirst tweets in interviews. stay out of fandom spaces
