We talk about complementing this with relational ways of thinking that are inclusive of the natural environment. This is what we mean by a decolonial approach focused on opening students to different perspectives and (hopefully) minimising harm :)

Students can really easily identify that management thought is historically dominated by male engineers and psychologists from Europe and North America. We talk about how this shapes contemporary managers’ focus on individual and technical solutions.

Loved talking about working with Sam and Sharlene :) We didn’t discuss it on the pod, but Sam and I developed an activity where we show students a timeline of key figures in the history of management.

I’m so sick of academics who make PhD students and postdocs feel bad about themselves. I see it happen frequently and it’s awful. If you’re one of those people, please stop and consider how you can support them instead. Our early career scholars deserve better. @OpenAcademics

When I teach professionals, I sometimes put them in groups to discuss and take notes. I specifically name that women are overwhelmingly called upon to serve as recorders, so I ask that every group assign a man to do this. The reactions are *wild*. Regularly, one man makes a 1/x
