Too many students are being sold a university education that won't get them a decent job at the end of it.
So I'm cracking down on rip-off degrees and boosting apprenticeships to ensure students get the best deal possible.

I welcome and am accepting the recommendations of the pay review body in full which means doctors, consultants & senior NHS staff will get a 6% pay rise.
Junior doctors will also get an extra £1,250 meaning those working in their 1st year will receive a 10.3% pay increase.

@CraigDavidson85 @theRCN I’m lost for words. I voted to strike. I did have to contact the rcn twice to get a ballot form as my first didn’t turn up. This was our only chance and now it’s all for nothing. They took £1100 off me for this lump sum aswell. The government knew exactly what they were doing.

A sad day for nursing & the NHS in England. Why only 43% of members returned ballots, I’ll never know. Those who voted were in favour of strike action, but will not be as the mandate was not met. Why is this @theRCN; is it apathy or a reconciliation that things will never change.

I hugely value nurses' work & welcome the end to disruptive strikes so staff can continue caring for patients and cut waiting lists.

Working as a school nurse we are seeing a HUGE increase in vaping especially in primary ages. It’s disgusting that majority tell me they get them from their supermarkets 🤦🏻♀️ #vaping #children

@NurseStandard 3 years I had of this. All I got was “it’s due to pressures with covid” universities don’t want to upset the placement providers.. so they choose to upset their students instead.

I promised I would cut NHS waiting lists and we are delivering.
Reducing 18-month waits by over 90% is huge progress.
We still have work to do, but backed by record government investment and the ongoing efforts of the NHS, I am confident we will get patients the care they need more quickly.

This is great news, and means over a million staff in the NHS will see extra money in their June payslips.
NHS staff can now get back to providing exemplary care for patients and helping cut waiting lists.

Today’s decision by @GMB_union members to accept the pay offer, following @unisontheunion – who represent the largest share of the NHS workforce – @MidwivesRCM & the @thecsp demonstrates it is a fair and reasonable proposal that can bring this dispute to an end.
