The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) and ICT Authority are rolling out a major training program for Junior School teachers under the Kenya Digital Economy Acceleration Project (KDEAP) ! This initiative is set to equip 62,565 teachers from 20,855 schools across all 47 counties with the skills to integrate ICT into teaching and learning. 📅 Key Dates to Note: · Training of Teachers: 24th - 26th June, 2026 · Training of Trainers (TOTs): 19th - 22nd June, 2026 · Content Development: 26th - 30th May, 2026 🎯 Target Participants: · 3 teachers per school (both regular and SNE) will be selected. · Each class of 50 teachers will be facilitated by 3 TOTs. · Total TOTs: 3,754 🏫 Training Model: The training will follow a Smart Cascade Model, ensuring effective and sustainable ICT integration. TOTs will include Curriculum Support Officers, ICT Champion Teachers, TSC Sub-County Directors, and Teacher Educators from Kibabii, Lugari, and Kagumo Diploma Colleges. 📍 Venues: 1,251 training venues have been identified across the country to ensure accessibility. 📋 Expected Outcomes: ✅ Teachers equipped with practical ICT skills for lesson planning and delivery. ✅ ICT-integrated lesson plans aligned with Competency-Based Education (CBE). ✅ Enhanced learner engagement and participation through digital tools. ✅ Improved teaching quality and learning outcomes across the board. 🔎 Roles of Regional & County Directors: RDs and CDs are tasked with: · Identifying and nominating teachers and TOTs. · Submitting lists by 29th May, 2026. · Selecting suitable training venues. · Ensuring equitable distribution of trainees. · Monitoring and reporting on training activities. 📈 County Breakdown: The training will cover all counties, with allocations based on the number of schools. For example: · Kakamega: 868 schools, 2,604 teachers, 156 TOTs. · Nakuru: 707 schools, 2,121 teachers, 127 TOTs. · Garissa: 132 schools, 396 teachers, 24 TOTs.
