I think that there's a limit to how people can say that they were unaware of something occurring under their watch. There is a responsibility that comes from a position of of authority that makes you culpable for failings that happen under your watch, ignorance or no. Own up.

Too many people are quick to jump to defend or protect media or creators they like for fear of losing something dear to them and even though it is hard to accept that sometimes something you've invested yourself into turns out to be immoral, it needs to be approached openly.

I think there's a real problem with people just handwaving away legitimate criticism until there's no room left to deny it, especially when people have given money over to what amounts to a scam, simply because there's some investment or sunk cost fallacy.
