Some notes from Vegas - overall much less web3 participation, felt very institutional leaning (miners, yield products, etc.) - still a good amount of BTC eco OG chads in attendance (you know who you are) - the @ArchNtwrk / @HoneyB_BTC event was awesome, high signal crowd, fun games, etc. The team is cooking and things are progressing well (more soon) - caught up with some friends and met some new people building cool things: @KingBootoshi (cooking up an insane AI company), the homies over at @getaxal releasing their BTC features (buy and earn), @nftsupply building a BTC neobank @generalbreadco, interesting new open source primitive for prediction markets @functionspaceHQ, etc. - a lot of the teams that raised last cycle are looking to raise again, and are pivoting / in survival mode. Rooting for the earnest builders amongst that crowd. - Feels like a good time to make a bet on the space if you're a VC w dry powder who didn't participate in the first funding wave. Overall, a fun and productive few days. It's always great to catchup with / meet people in person Until next time 🫡

Crypto card spending is the next big trend: Crypto card spending volume has surged +500% since September 2024, now running at $600 million per month. As a result, stablecoin-linked payment cards are now one of the fastest growing businesses on the blockchain, with 90% of transactions captured by Visa, $V. Visa's strategy has centered around partnering with emerging infrastructure providers which reduces reliance on traditional sponsor banks. The growth comes amid the launch of Jupiter Global which returns 4-10% cash back to crypto cards and has seen +660% MoM volume growth in April. Crypto card adoption is growing.
