I guess it's time to share the news: I'm am wrapping up my final weeks with KJZZ's @fronterasdesk - more on that later - and preparing to return to the @uazjschool as a professor of practice! I'm so excited to work with young journalists and with the incredible faculty and staff!

I was so excited when I learned that @genesislarag was going to take the reins from Jon. She’s from Nogales and did a bang up job as a reporter. Can’t wait to see how she makes her mark as editor.

Jonathan's contributions over 13 years as managing editor stretched far beyond Nogales, as evidenced by the many former @nogalesnews reporters who went on to work around AZ and elsewhere. Under his leadership the paper always punched well above its weight
