@Iancoll94354676 Isn't the law in this country regarding spent convictions 10 years? This was 20 years ago, he has not had a repeat conviction since, I struggle to understand the issue unless the lefties are doing it for political purposes.

We moved away, got to our new house, and unpacked a box, and there fast asleep was next doors cat, so we had a choice nearly 1000 mile round trip or keep the cat, anyway currently typing this in front of the fire with said cat sleeping on my lap.

@Closeyboy36 Congratulations. When I was unemployed, sometimes I applied for 30 to 40 jobs a week. Most of those ended up disappearing into the ether. I then made an effort to target my applications. The improvement in response was minimal, but it did improve. All logged on a spreadsheet

Well tomorrow, I’m being made redundant. I much have applied for 40 Jobs since October. It’s utterly soul destroying when employers don’t have the courtesy to reply to you. I’ve had 6 interviews and secured a new job tonight starting in January!! Merry Xmas to me from me.

@fesshole Can relate. There is nothing relaxing about holidays. It's awful and sometimes I wish i wasn't married. Then it'd be almost enjoyable.

I have enjoyed Christmas about twice in my 50 years. Too many people, too many gatherings, such a short period. It's relentless and overwhelming. I wish it was an opt-in thing and I could tell people that I'm not doing it this year, like people choose to do Dry January.

I'm a partner at an international accounting firm. I've just witnessed one of our graduates come out of the toilet and head straight back to his desk without washing his hands. His career here is as good as over.

Raised my children without Santa because it felt like a lie. They, however, are raising their kids with Santa. It's so fun to watch my grandchildren believe in magic that I now regret that my own children never got to experience it.
