"however the point of this whole thing is to see driver’s speed without hindrances like traffic." How crazy this guy is: The laps are selectively taken from whatever stint he pleases.Tyre life & strategies don't matter. Engine dying? Nah But a model predicted laps do!!
Udi@FormulaPace

I obviously get why on paper it doesn’t seem correct as their final gap was 4s, however the point of this whole thing is to see driver’s speed without hindrances like traffic. This weekend it was just Lewis who lost out more due to slower cars ahead and Hungary is a track that is amplified. In Belgium, it was Charles who was quicker and losing out more so on balance it shows who was genuinely quicker

@maratsatbaldeev @Danelerc I think it's inevitable. This is a fundamental change to impose on any driver especially in the middle of the season. Ham had the whole year in 2025 and could not adapt to the characteristics of the Brembos, hence he moved mountains to get the CI. Not blaming him btw.

@maratsatbaldeev @Danelerc From the onboard it looks like there is a big inconsistency under breaking, as if the feeling under breaking is not consistent. Even in Hungary there were laps that T1, T2 and T12 braking were very good but that was not consistently reproducible.

@geoded2753 @Danelerc It’s very strange because for example t1 at spa or t3-4 at silverstone were good

@brakeboosted They have a very well balanced chassis, and can afford to take it a little bit easier through some of the corners due to their straight line advantage probably.

A massive power cut into the last straight on Charles' final push lap. 2.5 tenths lost to teammate. That final lap should put him P1 without it.

@monequaque Brake bite feeling for that and the subsequent trailbraking + gearshifting pace after the initial bite. Watching his onboards he's been really struggling with these since Canada.

@monequaque In general people underestimate how crucial brake feeling and familiarity is in Formula 1 and especially at the very top. It's not just that you have to adjust car setup, you may need to change driving style. Lec's style keeps very high minimum corner speed. You need perfect

Also the fact that ppl forgot he was fighting constantly with other cars in 3 consecutive races Even if they were not brake dependant circuits you still need to have functional brakes to be able to fight with cars Australia vs George China vs Lewis x2 Suzuka vs Lewis & George

@monequaque accomodate both. Something would eventually have to give. Not due to politics but because of tangible driving reasons. Whatever the reason, Leclerc has lost that battle and this I did not expect to be honest.

@monequaque Baffled by Leclerc's stance on this matter. Back in 2024 when Ham was announced I foresaw huge issues within the team. Drivers like Ham want the team oriented towards them especially in fundamental design decisions. Ham's and Leclerc's styles are quite different. No same car can

I still don't understand why no one gaf about BRAKES. His head is gone he is mentally unstable he is this or that can we talk about F1 fans being mentally decapitated to the point that no one talks about car parts. I'm sure tomorrow Max will have a hydraulics failure too?

@TrFerrariF1 Leclerc's first two stints were really strong. However the last stint on the hards was quite weak, do you have any info or insight why that was?

@the_zb_ @GamalLiranzo Also Leclerc has been vocal about his struggles with the brakes since 2024, when Ferrari tried to mitigate their tyre heating problems using the brakes in what appears to be an increasingly wayward way ever since, a feature exacerbated in 2025 due to chassis shortcomings.

@GamalLiranzo The team, driver, telemetry, and visuals all definitively confirm the brake issue. 👍

@brakeboosted From Lec's onboard, he is struggling a bit on the brakes, I think more than FP1. Looks a lot like his problems in Canada under braking. Throughout the year his onboards give the impression that the car does not suit his style so far. Have you got any thoughts on that?

Super Friday for Ferrari. Keep building on this through FP3. There were some complaints with the brakes and I thought the comms were rather sluggish. Hopefully both are addressed tonight. Soft compound looked quite tricky compared to the medium. Unable to improve on many areas of the lap. Cold to overheating in a blink of an eye, so the window to get a lap in is narrow. Execution needs to be top notch tomorrow.
