Disappointed to see Maxi come in over Gibson but assuming 2 games in 4 days is a bit of a push for our aging top earner. Fingers crossed we start to see a Boz inspired coming of age performance from Smitty

Ipswich have never won at the bet365 Stadium. Stoke last lost a home match to them back in March 1997, at the Victoria Ground. Mauricio Taricco scored the only goal. This was Stoke's team 👇

"Tourette's is not an 'excuse' it is a medical, neurological condition... there wasn't any premeditation behind what John said." Greg Storey, friend of John Davidson, describes how Tourette's causes "totally and utterly involuntary outbursts" as seen at the Baftas. #Newsnight

@kneezurr Shocked not shocked? West African languages, taught English by the Brits along with a very large number of indentured Irish and Scots. Mostly as “middle management”.

@Bunnyduckmag And it is a decision making/experience flaw, not technical as such. He'll learn.

@Bunnyduckmag Problem is that young players have technical ability but decision making comes with age - like every aspect of life. Unfortunately, being a goalkeeper is 80% decision making. He's been thrown in at the deep end and learning on the job. We need to manage our expectations with him

Simkin has a huge technical flaw in how he retreats backwards behind his line for crosses. How can our GK coach not see it?

@potterscope_ When he came in it was a case of keeping us up and consolidating this year. It's only our good start that's raised expectations. If we're not challenging near the top midway through next season then I'd be open to change, but so far he's earned our support through a rough patch

@potterscope_ He reminds me of Michael O'Neill. It's nice to have a grown up in charge who's done a good job of steadying the ship. Given the dross we've had managing us in the last 9 yrs, I'm definitely not Robins out, but I also doubt he could take us up. He's earned the chance to try though

I’ll post some longer form stuff on this- but to sum it up, I feel like I’ve already seen more than enough to confirm Robins isn’t capable of moving us forward.

@PitterPotter619 @hcafcopinions He started off well but when his form dipped we weren't able to take him out of the firing line like you normally would with young players because of our injuries. For the rest of the season, if he got tackled once by a fullback in a game, he went into his shell and hid.

🗣️ Michael Owen: "There was more pure footballers back in the day. Now you have to be an athlete." "You just have to be able to run, you have to be big, you have to be fast... you have to be covering X amount of kilometres now." "There's loads of great players that were absolute ballers. Proper, proper talented." "Now if you can run a bit further than anyone else and basically pass it from A to B, you're getting a decent career in the Premier League." "You don't even have to be that good anymore. Back in the day you had to have real skill and attributes to be a top footballer."
