This week I took the oath to serve the people of Caerdydd Penarth in the Senedd.
It is an immense privilege and one I will approach with hard work, honesty, and a determination to stand up for our communities every single day.

Cardiff Airport is a drain on the Welsh taxpayer. Huge sums spent propping it up & little hope of turning it around & competing with Bristol or of making a profit. Is it worth keeping open?

Welsh Government has seen off a legal challenge from Bristol Airport over its £205m subsidy plans for Cardiff Airport (which it owns). Judgment knocked back Bristol's four points that it beached the Subsidy Control Act. Bristol can appeal, but WG will be seeking costs.

A must watch. Very clear from just 3 minutes of the gentlest scrutiny from @adavies4 that Rhun ap Iorwerth would be a disaster as First Minister.
No grasp of detail (on his flagship policy!); glaring evasiveness on what he'd de-prioritise.

I interviewed Plaid Cymru's leader Rhun ap Iorwerth today and tried to get him to explain: 1. How much his signature childcare offer policy will cost (clarified after the interview as £400m extra p.a. by end of next parliament) 2. What he is going to cut in spending terms in order to make it happen (I'd struggled to find details on how Plaid plan to fund this scheme since announcing it last year) Interestingly, he talks at one point about "spending money differently on tackling poverty" Here's some of our exchange ⬇️ #c4news

So very sad to hear that John Williams, a Glamorgan stalwart who founded and ran the Balconiers for 50 years has passed away. He raised a huge amount of money for the county with his and others' efforts and was devastated when first class cricket ended at his beloved St. Helen's
