As the mom of four sons, I know all too well that kids can’t focus at school when they’re hungry. At a time when grocery prices are through the roof and Republicans are hell-bent on slashing food assistance programs, free school meals bridge the gap for students across our country and ensure they are set up for success. Today, I’m introducing a bill with @Ilhan, @BettyMcCollum04 and @SenSanders to provide universal free school lunch to kids in all 50 states – no matter their income level or zip code.

It doesn't take a genius to figure out you're not supposed to use your government job to benefit yourself or your family financially. Some members of the Trump Administration seem to have trouble wrapping their heads around that concept. A Trump appointee who works on federal grazing policy at the Interior Department owns five cattle ranches that graze on the federal land she manages. She was recently recorded at a Congressional event describing the policy changes she's been personally involved in that benefit ranchers like herself. Oh, and by the way, this is the same official who failed to disclose that her husband was paid $3.5 million by a mining company that needed a permit from her agency. Public officials don’t get to use their position to line their own pockets. This Administration seems to think otherwise, and that is completely indefensible. washingtonpost.com/climate-enviro…
Btw, the cost to repair the reflecting pool went from $1.8 million to $7 million and now it's $13.1 million. A reminder that not a single soul asked for that project.
