Can we all just note that the system did more to stop people from protesting the police murder of Tyre Nichols last night than it did to prevent a white supremacist mob from storming the US Capitol.

So much to say - The officer at the car stop scene who hopes “they stomp his ass.” The officers holding a handcuffed Tyrie while others beat on him. The police coverup starting immediately with “he reached for my gun.” An often used made up fact by police to justify beatings.

@nytimes misses the mark. Opposition was driven by constituents, community based organizations & a coalition of unions, academics & civil rights groups. The @NYSenate who opposed listened, researched & voted their conscious. They showed conviction; a rarity in politics these days
