I'm excited to announce that I will transition to a new role in 2024. I am a new vice principal in the Gulf Islands (BC, Canada). I'm also the whole school #physed teacher (K-7). I'm looking forward to the new challenge & excited what the future brings for my family and I.

@howie_hua I love this! I teach upper elementary, and often have students co-construct the tasks and rubrics with me. That way they know exactly what to expect when they go into an assessment, they have the agency to choose how to show their understanding, and its more accessible.

Here's how I do tests in math class: For the first 5 minutes of the session, students put their writing utensils on the ground, I hand out the tests, and students can chat with each other about the test. So many students have mentioned how much this lowers their test anxiety.

The incoming teachers at my new school are doing a 'get to know you' thing, and everyone's hobbies are like, "Marathons, power lifting, mountain climbing, swimming the English Channel, etc." And I'm over here with, "Dungeons & Dragons, painting minis, making, and robots."

@howie_hua Funny, my first instinct was 40% of 100 is 40, and 75 is 3/4 of 100. I divide 40 by 4 to get the size of my quarters (10 each) and then multiplied by 3 to get my 3/4 (30!) I guess that’s why the flipped percentage trick works, so perhaps not so backwards after all :P

Really enjoyed facilitating Student-Led Conferences today. G4 did a great job of taking responsibility for their learning, sharing their achievements, challenges, and goals! It was also wonderful to hear students talking with their parents in their home language. #KIS_SeoulCampus
