I'm excited to announce that I will transition to a new role in 2024. I am a new vice principal in the Gulf Islands (BC, Canada). I'm also the whole school #physed teacher (K-7). I'm looking forward to the new challenge & excited what the future brings for my family and I.

@PepsMccrea The paradox too is that unlike many jobs, it's virtually impossible to attain full expertise in teaching because there are so many facets to the job. Add the fact that success is so hard to measure. It's like Escher's stairs.

Once again so thrilled to host @balanceabc to kick-off our transdisciplinary unit around balance and self-awareness. Great way to get the Ss hooked and eager to explore more.

@MadForMaple I like the Shure MV88 or MV88 Plus. Very compact and I think does the job well.

@actionhero @thebrokencopier Forget panicking. Understand AI, and have conversations with other educators about how we can prepare ourselves and our students for its future implications.

So @TheKoreaHerald you're covering this as a protest instead of as an act of bigotry. Classy. m.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20…

@AdamMGrant For me the struggle has always been displaying humility without being seen as "weak", especially as a minority in this profession. Sometimes I need to make noise to get heard. If your organization believes in this ⬆️, you're in a good place.

I'm always grateful and amazed that ajummas on the subway, notorious for their feistiness in crowded places (and life in general), will always give up their seat for my kids. #respect

@KIS_SeoulCampus has partnered up with the Korea Legacy Committee to support their work with the elderly this holiday season. All grades are in charge of bringing a different ingredient to make braised Korean short ribs, galbi jjim (갈비찜). #kispride

@Dean_of_math I think most kids would say that school is a place to learn. Humans learn by playing and being curious, and a school where you learn through play and inquiry is pretty fun 😃

Will quote tweet this everyday if I could. Appreciation and gratitude are a couple of things that teachers often lack, but also often need. Keep in mind that we almost never see the long-term results of our work.

Being appreciated doesn't just make you feel good. It helps you get stronger. Evidence: receiving gratitude improves cardiovascular stress responses, boosting resilience and performance by turning threats into challenges. Being thanked fortifies our bodies along with our bonds.

@DEIJ_Warrior I think so, but it'll take a lot of humility and honesty from both sides to rebuild that trust. And also time. Go in with the goal of creating a professional working relationship, and if it's any more than that then it's a plus.
