@BKSportsTalk That might be more valuable than the prospect returns we could get for them at this point in time. Herrera in particular could still get a lot better and bring in a great haul if he really lives up to his potential. Burly doesn’t have enough power for most teams to want him at 1B

If the #STLCards came to the conclusion after this season that: 1) Ivan Herrera's long-term position is 1B & 2) They have to choose *one of* Alec Burleson or Herrera to trade Who are you dealing?

@ComplexSports @allthesmokeprod I have no sources on this but I would guess it’s tied to the popularity of baseball relative to football and basketball among American kids in general. Although there’s a bunch of super aggressive recruitment of black kids by coaches in those sports which is kinda its own problem

@tangotiger @dougglanville It’s a game, but he’s paid to be a professional, not to “have fun”. This is just straight up low baseball IQ, similar to lots of other PCA mistakes. Great natural athlete, but a shitty person and not very intelligent

Maybe next time you talk to Lindor or McCutchen @dougglanville , can you ask them if they were having fun? Or, were they super serious here, knowing that the fielder (notably his gloved-ball) was more entitled than the runner?
