To be fair, it’s not like the Chiefs helped him out as an organization... BOTH years he was trying to meet unrealistic expectations that weren’t originally set for him. Year 1, he had to step up for Rice and Brown after their injuries, Year 2 was spent covering for Rice AGAIN due to suspension, AND he had his shoulder blown up by Kelce during week 1 and I’m not sure he ever fully recovered. This offense has kind of been in pieces for 2 years straight. Unfortunately, that has deeply affected Xavier Worthy’s upbringing to this team and the NFL. All this to say— it would be silly to be too upset given the circumstances. I am optimistic to give him another chance this year.

I feel as if a lot of us Chiefs fans aren’t upset enough with the fact that Xavier Worthy has been a major disappointment through 2 seasons. He has given us little to no reason to believe that he was not only worth being taken in the first round, but TRADED UP for in the first round. Year 3 is going to determine whether he is a star in the making or a bust from the making.

If he had had that surgery after week 1 and taken the season off, how would that change your opinion? The guy is 22 years old. Are draft picks not allowed to develop anymore? Especially considering most people believe we had a mannequin from the children department at Macy’s caching the WRs the last two years.
