surely not any AI products, those are all completely legit and inevitably the future. /s

I wonder if there are any other tech products being breathlessly hyped as the all-consuming paradigm shift of the future that will look similarly cringe and dated in ten years

It’s important to remember that this was once described as “inevitable,” and that there was a time when you were derided as a Luddite for being skeptical of it.
In retrospect lots of people are acting like it was clearly always BS, but for a time we were told it was inevitable…

@vinicius_dacal this presumes quite a bit about react dev skill level
English

@getifyX If you have an api that the average dev doesn't understand, that's a bad API.
English

useEffect was one of the only good things of React.
figures that everyone fucked up using to where it has to be banned.

this is like when you get laid off and they thank you for all your hard work and wish you the best of luck in the future
Sam Altman@sama
I have so much gratitude to people who wrote extremely complex software character-by-character. It already feels difficult to remember how much effort it really took. Thank you for getting us to this point.

@hhg2288 I have my LLM drafting burn posts right now. stay tuned. ;-)

@getifyX Great point.
From now on, I'll call it "footwear drill".

@KEMOS4BE i saw this episode of brandon stark warging the mad king.
English

@ninjaaron_0 another way to say this: declarative style at the statement level while being more imperative at the procedure level.
English

@ninjaaron_0 yeah, fair enough distinction: declarative spirit vs declarative syntax.
English

@mateusjatenee when humans get in this loop we call it "local maxima" and "recency bias".
