I’m so absolutely freaking tired of waking up to a freshly rebooted machine because Windows, not me, decided installing updates I absolutely do not care about was more important than preserving my debugging state. Whoever is in charge of this at MS should be fired.

A lot of people are arguing that HTML burns more tokens than markdown. It's true but you can save at least 40% by externalizing the CSS to a template with . This style.css is your formatting so the LLM will never output CSS again. I tested on a 12116 token HTML article and it dropped to 6,723 tokens so -44%! You'll have this:

but in this case, the wrong 36 answer is not due to that. it's incorrect "distributive property" (negation) here:
(40)-(0)+(4)

the second most misunderstood thing in algorithms:
5n is still 5 times longer than n, even though they're both O(n), as n theoretically scales to infinity.
if O(n) takes 1 second, O(5n) takes 5sec. if O(n) takes 3 minutes, O(5n) takes 15 minutes.
for all n, these diffs matter.

O(1) means the time doesn't grow with input size. it doesn't mean the time is small. this is the most misunderstood thing in algorithms.

when not cooperating, in fact it turns the already in the merged lane resentful against those in the not merged lane for "cheating" to get an ahead.

You can waste a lot of tokens on tasks like creating a new endpoint.
Without a Database MCP, your agent will:
1. Search for table info — if entities exist, it reads them and maps relationships. If not, it scans the codebase to infer the schema.
2. Generate and test queries.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 multiple times.
With a Database MCP, the agent can do all of this in a single action:

but not really inside a real program, where there's much more efficient/proper ways to make zeroes.
