"hand written" (for code written by a human) is abelist. seriously, a lot of people code without hands. "self written" is the obviously and objectively correct term. "self" as in human. don't do what car driving did, and give "self" over to the machine.

useEffect was one of the only good things of React. figures that everyone fucked up using to where it has to be banned. same as == and JS coercion. dumb the thing down b/c devs can't be bothered to learn things.

i can chat ALL DAY LONG with (plus plan) chatgpt... never once found a usage limit. meanwhile, I hit daily or weekly usage limits on paid claude chat nearly every time. super sucks. not worth it. wish I could get a refund.

"Functional programming" is a bad name for a powerful discipline. It makes the essence seem like "using functions", which is about as illuminating as calling dancing a "footwear drill". The name points to a real feature, but not the point.

The secret to fixing your "For you" feed is not just following people, it's interacting with the type of content you want to see more of. So skip through things you don't want to see and heart/bookmark/repost/reply to the type of thing you want to see more of. This is how I fixed my feed.
