Some of the companies I advise are fundraising, very small seed or pre-seed rounds. I would not advise them if I did not believe in the founders and their approaches to building to solve big problems. And the companies they’re building. Early days are exciting 😍🎢✨💰

latest jobs report data confirms what we’ve heard anecdotally & data published to date. This crisis is disproportionately punishing working women - with domestic/childcare falling on their shoulders at a pace that makes integrating families and home more challenging than ever

How are you approaching this issue? how are you innovating your policies & structures to support caregivers? Backup care, while helpful in “normal times” falls short in covid. We have a pod matching pilot up in Boston. If you’re a Boston based co - reach out. We can help

Imagine telling a 36-year-old with 2 young children, a working spouse and little to no childcare that they need to report back to the office during a pandemic. I’m sure they’ll make it work.

We agree. It can be frustrating- the failed log-ins, the shifting schedules, the general headache that is distance learning but many teachers are innovating and expanding how they teach out of their passion to help our children and future generations. Let’s give them our thanks

The question on all of our minds. The answer is this is the greatest challenge facing us now. A mix of scheduling, set-up & structure, getting your work in whenever you can and accepting exhaustion. Ideally solid comms with your team & mgr about KPIs/outcome focused work

@kimskitchensink @Ryan_Holdaway a bunch in LA and in many burbs nationwide were popping up pre-pandemic. Real Estate Twitter someone like @moseskagan can lend perspective - you may begin to see this in larger MF over time?

So now that all our jobs are remote and nobody is ever going back to the office, who’s opening a coworking space with on site child care?

@treubold A mental shift from perfection to doing your best. Finding out that focused attention for shorter duration does way more good than scattered more "frequent" attention. Getting them to bed early on a Fri/Sat for some "you" or "us" time

The authors found that employers often jump to the conclusion that moms are “less dedicated” to their jobs—despite the endless research that shows that childcare duties and other WFH disruptions tend to fall disproportionately to women.

What's wrong with this picture? >1/3 dads w. kids at home were promoted while WFH, 26% got a raise. But only 9% of moms were promoted, just 13% got a raise? upnewsinfo.com/2020/08/28/mom…
