Sometime back Bob asked what I’d like for my birthday. I thought, then said I’d like lunch at the Ritz, in the summer. I would wear a pretty frock, high heeled sandals, we could wander round Green Park on a cloud of champagne Gentle reader I’m wearing a trench coat and boots.

Here’s an idea. Instead of national service, which is obviously idiotic, how about kids working on farms.
