#OTD March 24, 1603: Queen Elizabeth I of England dies after a 44-year reign. She solidified Anglicanism as the state religion, enforcing the Elizabethan Religious Settlement and steering England away from both Catholicism and Puritanism. Her rule shaped the future of the English Church and laid the foundation for modern Protestant England.

Operation tail wag update. Smack dab in the middle of the active abuse hours (5-7pm ) & outside Ruby hasn’t a care in the world. 🎉 Finally this time of day doesn’t send her into triggered fearful mode. Inside Ruby still has a ways to go but we see generalizing happening❤️‍🩹

#OTD 22 March 2015, the coffin of Richard III travelled from the University of Leicester to Fen Lane Farm, thought to be close to where he was killed, for a service of remembrance, then going on Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre, before entering Leicester Cathedral.

@PGaches Thank you for posting this. I did not know those splendid ceiling were created and mounted section by section. What’s the largest span practical for a single mold?

Este es el primer libro de bolsillo de la historia. El Codex Rotundus, de 1480. De forma circular, tiene 266 páginas e iluminaciones extraordinarias. Es un libro de horas. Fue impreso en Brujas. Es una joya bibliográfica.

I am officially now a Hexham Abbey bell ringer. My report card would say "still terrible at it but tries (the patience of my teacher)". Although I do jest it is lovely to be part of a centuries old tradition where everyone can still enjoy listening to bells.

Stepping into the legendary Italian Chapel on tiny Lamb Holm… 🏰✨ Hand-built and beautifully painted by Italian POWs during WWII. A true testament to resilience, faith, and human creativity in the toughest times. Absolutely breathtaking . #ItalianChapel #OrkneyUncovered
