@juicechewer @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder Forget it... you won't hear me. I get what you're saying and I dont know anything about their situation. My comment is for everyone else: the most amazing life could be down the path of staying together and raising this child with love. Just consider it.

@ghostkat117 @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder you don't even know if either of them ever wanted kids? she was planning on abortion till her religious mom probably told her she was going to hell if she aborted. the baby isn't even born yet, doesn't belong to them and was never their choice, so not their obligation to raise it

@juicechewer @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder Not crazy. But far from admirable. You misunderstood: it's an act of love to the child. Yes, raising a child changes your life and it's the ultimate act of love. Love the child, raise it to be kind, raise it completely contrary to how it was conceived. Break the cycle. Be better

@ghostkat117 @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder you don't raise a child just to prove you "really love" someone, raising it will take up/change your entire life, not to mention its not only not his baby but belongs to a rapist.. not crazy to break up with someone cuz you don't want that shitty life changing decision

The right way to “relive your childhood” is through having kids of your own and getting the joy of introducing them to all the fun and wonder you experienced growing up. The wrong way to do it is to become a “Disney adult” and everything else like that.

@NewsEquities @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder Wow. I debated responding with sarcasm but it would be lost on you. This is simply not a productive conversation because your opinion of yourself is the only thing you take into consideration. Have a good rest of your day.

@ghostkat117 @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder my perspective is rooted in pragmatism. i'm the only one being honest here; you're performing for an audience, just as you expect he should. that's not life, though. that's not really living, and that absofuckinglutely is not 'love'. you're just spouting empty cliches.

@NewsEquities @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder Sacrificing your own ego to care for and love a child is the VERY definition of love. Your perspective is one rooted in resentment and selfishness. If he cannot overcome his own shit, then he should leave. But if he could raise himself up and step up, the rewards are many.

@ghostkat117 @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder she's wrong. that doesn't define love. there are countless ways to love that don't involve sacrificing the rest of your life to care for a child that isn't yours. that's not what love looks like. given how he feels, that would be performative martyrdom merely for the sake of it.

@TiffaniMarie483 Precisely. And when phrased like you did, the natural response from comments so far is "sure! Nothing wrong with it!". If people immediately "othered" each other over a vaccine, we are cooked.

If gene therapy could cure Down syndrome and other such problems, would there be anything inherently wrong with doing so? What about other diseases that are partially genetic (alcoholism, cancers, etc), is that ok? What about violent tendencies? What about IQ?

@ghostkat117 @RaminNasibov I can. The rate of random mutations do not work mathematically -not even close. It was a good theory 150 yrs ago but not after discovering the complexity of biology. The 3.5 billion year history of life is not enough time for a single protein to form through random mutation.

@pcosprincess22 @musings_blonde Generally, I believe in "live and let live". I dont care what people do. But so many young women are being led astray. As a new mom, you have a new responsibility: to be the glue of the family. It starts early. Dont we, older women, have a responsibility to provide guidance?

Maybe not everyone has the same experiences, relationship, maybe people had different birth experiences than you. You having your in laws is a personal choice. That’s not telling someone you can’t see the baby. You chose to have them there some people don’t want that and that’s ok too. We should encourage women to do what they feel comfortable with and what’s best for their situation not make them feel bad for not having the same experience.

My mom and mother-in-law stayed in the hospital waiting room all day. They prayed and prayed, and when my husband texted that our son was “finally here,” they cried and danced around the room together. Imagine after all that telling my MIL she couldn’t see the baby. I understand needing rest and boundaries postpartum. Truly. But some of the discourse online acts like grandparents are random intruders instead of family who have loved and prayed for that child long before they were born.

@ghostkat117 @0riettaRose Definitely do! The homeschool community is very friendly and welcoming and helpful. We have a LOT of homeschoolers here in Indiana, and they are always willing to advise and share.

If anyone has advice for a parent who wants to homeschool, but has a very demanding full-time job, drop your advice in a comment! #1 is to consider career change. Not easy, but thousands of families have done it for the sake of their kids when it comes to life & education.

@0riettaRose I love this and want this. I just have no idea how to pull it off with a super damnding full time job. Would love advice if anyone has some.

Both my husband and I worked full-time and homeschooled for 3 years. Here are some things that worked for us (and others). Hope some are helpful. 1. Microschool/part-time options. There are a lot more of these than people think. It's a great in-between option. 2. You don't have to homeschool during "normal" work hours. If kids are younger, it requires a lot less time than you think. K-3 is 2-3hrs/day for the main subjects. You can bulk it into early morning, lunch hours, weekends. 3. Depending on kids' ages (best for older), consider online options. Alpha School used iXL until they built their own program. @socraticexp is also phenomenal. 4. If your job is flexible at all consider alternative work hours. My husband worked early 6am-2p while I homeschooled. I homeschooled them in the morning (with occasional emails) and then worked 2-8pm and filled in extra time on the weekends. I obviously had the more flexible job. 5. Share with a friend. FInd another family who is also homeschooling and share responsibilities. Similar to a microschool/part-time options but generally free =) Reach out if you need help or more specific questions♥️

Homeschooling parents make a decision to experience life with their children. They commit to being full-time caregivers & educators, taking all the shots society slings at them, because they believe they're the best leaders for their children. It takes grit to homeschool.

A while back, my ex-husband needed someone to drive him home after a colonoscopy because of the anesthesia. Somehow, despite the divorce and all our history, I ended up being the chosen chauffeur. Y’ALL!!! So there I was, sitting in the waiting room surrounded by concerned wives, husbands, and family members while this man was in the back preparing for one of the most humbling procedures known to mankind. At one point, another woman sitting nearby smiled at me and asked, “Waiting for your husband?” And I don’t know what came over me, but I laughed and…..

@NewsEquities @DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder Because a single tweet is supposed to capture all the moral complexity you want covered? She didnt write a 30 page thesis and miss the point. She simply stated that if he truly, deeply, loved her he would have stayed. Deep complexity and rationalization aside, thats the core.

@DanannSpl4ces @RealPostFolder You made a super rational and loving comment. The brainwashed kids jumped on you for it. I hope the right people hear what you are saying. Real love means finding a way to love this child together. Real strength is making something beautiful out of an ugly situation.

@ghostkat117 @0riettaRose Once she's around 9 or 10, as long as she likes homeschooling, she can be mostly self sufficient. Teach her to read, do basic math, and enjoy learning, and the school part will be simple.
